For the defined shredding of voluminous and massive materials required for further operating or processing procedures, ERDWICH has developed the three-shaft technology. It is based on the proven rotor shearing cutting principle of the two-shaft technology.
Due to the different speeds of the three cutting rotors and to variable knife equipments, the materials are continuously pulled in and shredded – no jamming, no blocking.
Materials which are too voluminous are cycled by the overhead transfer shaft to the knife shafts below for further shredding. This circuit is repeated until the defined size of piece is reached.
The size of piece is determined by perforated sieves mounted under the machine through which the materials drop and are discharged after shredding. Three shafts – an optimal result: Exactly defined sizes of piece.

S120 series
The S120 series has been developed for particularly heavy industrial use. These two-shaft shredders are also known as rotary shears and are suitable in particular for shredding metals and tires. A four-shaft shredder is often used down-stream in a second shredding process to reduce granule size even further, and particularly high through-put rates can be achieved using this combination. Even with low speeds and very high torque the machines are capable of shredding heavy gauge metals. If you need to process very bulky or awkwardly shaped metal objects, a compression feeder will help to ensure the required through-put.

The M&J 4000M is a large mobile shredder capable of effectively and reliably shredding virtually any type of material. This includes particularly challenging inputs such as household refuse, bulky waste, construction and demolition waste, chemical waste, industrial waste, tree stumps, carpets, mattresses, railway sleepers, refrigerators as well as compacted waste in bales and rolls. Throughput can be as high as 30–100 tons/hour depending on the type of input, the number of knives specified for the cutting table and the feed set-up.
The M&J 4000M features two extremely powerful shafts running asynchronously and in both directions. The interaction between the knives rotating on these two shafts ensures that the input material is in constant movement, thus preventing bridging and providing maximum shredding capacity.

The Mikro Crusher is available in three different sizes and models; for laboratory, standard and heavy duty performance. All three models are the double roll type, designed either to serve as pre-crushers for Mikro-Pulverizers and other mills or as independent crushers. The Mikro Crusher features an outer housing in which two shafts are installed, firmly supported by heavy bearings at either end. For use on certain materials, breaker bars may be installed under the rolls for further size reduction.

When continuously shredding large quantities and volumes or when pre-shredding is required for further procedures, there is no alternative to the ERDWICH two-shaft technology.
It is based on the proven and strong rotor-shearing cutting principle of long standing from ERDWICH, the most implemented of its kind.
The material is sized by the hooks of the knives, pulled in and cut between the knives of the two opposed shafts. The two strong cutting rotors master all materials, even if difficult to shred or large and voluminous.
ERDWICH power is convincing.

Dual-shaft shredder for wood and green waste
The CRAMBO dual-shaft shredder shreds all types of wood and green waste, as well as pre-treated synthetic fractions, to a set particle size. Slow-running screws with shredding tools minimize fine particle and noise/dust emissions, and build up resistance to contamination.
The particle size is adjustable by simply exchanging screen baskets. A hydraulic drive with load-dependent speed control ensures maximum utilization of motor output. Optional disconnection of the shredding unit from the drive simplifies integration into the system.
Advantages at a glance
* high throughputs with general-purpose use
* aggressive feed with 2800mm long, counter-rotating shredding drums
* variable particle size with less overlengths and low fine fraction
* quick-change system for screen basket and tools – screen basket change in minutes

Applications
Neue Herbold SB screw shredder / bale breaker is engineered and manufactured with a two fold main function. Its heavy duty design makes it ideal for voluminous materials such as wood pallets, cable drums, sheets of insulation, porous building blocks and when used in the PET bottle size reduction can easily and effectively achieve a cluster free break down of PET baled bottles. Through this extremely effective method of bale breakdown the down stream bottle separation process will be far more precise.
Design
Neue Herbold SB series screw shredder / bale breaker is manufactured with screw shaped shafts that are installed for parallel operation. The bearing mounted shafts are centred in a chamber channel equipped in the lower channel area with a screened surface to scalp off contaminations such as sand and dirt. The size reduction or material breakdown occurs through the meshing of the rotor shaft flights and the counter teeth located at the discharge point.
The screw type flights on the shafts produce a horizontal transport of the material toward the discharge area. The final discharge area can be designed for the specific final material size and through put rate that is dependent on the application.
Advantages
- flexibility in application range
- heavy duty design
- energy-saving size reduction
- low noise level
- extremely high through put rates
- reduced down times

The M&J 1000M is a compact, mobile shredder designed for use on sites where limited quantities of waste need to be processed with considerable efficiency. It is designed to be moved to where you need it, and is available as a towed trailer or semi-trailer, with a hook lift, on crawlers and with hydraulic supports.
The 159 kW diesel-hydraulic power unit makes the M&J 1000M independent of any power supply. Because you can move it easily from one place to another, it makes an exceptionally versatile shredder solution that is ideal for many varying needs.
This is the smallest design in our range, with a throughput of 8–50 tons/hour depending on input, the number of knives specified for the cutting table, and the feed set-up.
|
|
The M&J 6000S is one of the largest stationary shredders currently available anywhere in the world. This unit is equipped with two 4-metre-long shafts and an exceptionally large shredding zone approx. 7 sq m in size. Together, these features make this top-size unit ideal for shredding unusually bulky or very heavy inputs, and in large volumes.
In addition, the M&J 6000S is equipped with a powerful electrichydraulic power system.
|
|
The M&J 1000S is a stationary shredder with two powerful shafts that run asynchronously and in both directions. The interaction between these two shafts moves the input material around, avoiding bridging and ensuring maximum throughput.
It is the smallest design in our range, with a capacity of 8–50 tons/hour depending on input, the number of knives specified for the cutting table, and the feed set-up.
The modular design makes it easy to adapt M&J 1000S shredders to meet specific operating requirements in new and existing plants. The combination
of relatively small size and highly robust efficiency makes this shredder
very versatile. This means you can use it for shedding an unusually wide range of inputs, even though it is designed for stationary installation.
|
|
The M&J 4000S stationary shredder is designed to meet the special needs of plants in which the incoming material is extremely varied in both size and composition, and may also contain unpredictable components. The combination of a large cutting table and a twin-shaft shedding system makes it possible to shred almost any kind of material and that there are no problems with bridging.
The two extremely powerful shafts run asynchronously and in both directions. The power is transmitted via a double hydrostatic transmission that makes sure the machine provides full power right from startup, and takes full advantage of all the power for shredding. Variants of this large-size model are available with different mobility systems, including semi-trailer, towed trailer, crawlers and hydraulic supports.

TWO SHAFT WASTE CRUSHERS
T20/200 and T30/400 have been developed to be installed in large hadling plants of municipal solid waste, industrial waste and hazardous waste, where they may be used both like waste crushers and like shredders for large voluminous waste.
Highly competitive machines that allow to obtain high throughputs thanks to the design of the blades working against the counter-blades (patented system). The blades are designed to allow an alternate cutting action on both of their sides. This requires less cutting force which means a lower wear on all the mechanical parts to obtain the equivalent efficiency of traditional systems.
