ESD3000 is a light weight, hand-held battery operated tester.
Unique in it’s class, ESD3000 is powered by a rechargable battery pack up to 30kV for approximately 8 hours @1Hz discharge repetition.
Regular AA batteries can also be used.
Electronic polarity reversal, including alternating poalrity, is provided as standard in all ESD3000 models.
The modular construction enables many different tests to be performed. For example; EMC immunity, aircraft, automotive, expolsive devices and component test applications can all be addressed.
ESD3000 meets all known personnel ESD applications for both contact and air discharge modes.
Each ESD3000 module is automatically identified and the corresponding input screens displayed. Modules contain all the high voltage circuits making ESD3000 the ONLY ESD system capable of fully conforming to different calibration requirements.
Remote control of ESD3000 test system is possible using the EMC Partner TEMA software package.

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a very common phenomenon. Yet, if the resulting arc current or electromagnetic wave were to flow through the circuits of an electrical or electronic device, the result could be a malfunctioning or even a breakdown. The IEC and other standardization bodies have been investigating ways of preventing this problem for many years, producing a Series of standards addressing methods and rules related to electrostatic discharge immunity testing. Recent years have seen an increased need for a means of performing discharge tests not only on domestic appliances, but also on automotive equipment. The KES4021 simulator allows you to perform immunity tests on an electrical or electronic device by simulating a direct or indirect electrostatic discharge from a charged human operator.

The ESD 3000 is the only 32 kV ESD Simulator which is both battery operated and completely hand-held, eliminating base unit, external power supply, and power supply tether cable associated with other ESD simulators.
Full range of easily interchangeable R-C discharge modules ensures the ESD 3000 meets your changing ESD testing requirements.
Light weight, comfortable ergonomics, easy intuitive single-handed operation, clear back-lit LCD display showing all test parameters, and 10 on-board pre-programmable non-volatile memory locations to store ESD test routines; these are just some of the reasons experienced test technicians and engineers applaud the ESD 3000 as the best ESD simulator available.
The low purchase price, use of standard consumer NiMH AA size rechargeable batteries, and proven reliability make the ESD 3000 easy to justify to management concerned about minimizing operational costs. Yes, it has a pulse counter...

The V420 is an 8-channel, isolated, programmable resistance simulator. It uses entirely solid-state simulation to eliminate transient errors associated with relay switching, and provide for monotonic resistance changes. Channels are individually programmable in four resistance ranges, from 5 ohms to 65.5K on all ranges. Channels can operate from microvolts up to 24V / 50mA. Overload protection and channel error detection are included.
Any channel may be rerouted, under software control, to the front-panel calibration-check connector, allowing the board to be tested for calibration by a precision DVM without disturbing the connections to the equipment under test. The BIST option adds an onboard precision ohmmeter, allowing loopback checking and full automatic self-test. Optional external termination and bridge-completion boards are available.
Features Include:
- Eight channel, isolated, wide-range, 2/4 wire resistance simulator.
- Fast, monotonic, glitch-free resistance value programming.
- Suitable for simulating resistors, platinum/copper RTDs, thermistors, strain gages, load cells.
- Users may directly program resistances or RTD simulation (copper or platinum) temperatures.
- Four programmable resistance ranges allow resistances from 5 ohms to 65.5 Kohms.
- Any channel is switchable to front-panel calibration check connector for in-system test without disconnecting field wiring.
- Simple register based VME interface with no handshaking required.
- Optional built-in self-test (BIST) and mil/COTS versions available.
- Optional termination panels and bridge completion boards available.

Newport Corporation announces the innovative, Oriel Sol3A™ solar simulators, the latest addition to their family of photovoltaic test and measurement solutions. These large area, constant wave (CW) sources use a xenon lamp and feature a proven, proprietary filter to meet all three Class A performance parameters (spectral match , non-uniformity of irradiance, and temporal instability of irradiance) without compromising the 1 sun output power. Each version is certified to the IEC 60904-9 2007 edition, JIS C 8912, and ASTM E 927-05 standards. Newport's new solar simulators are available in sizes from 2 x 2, 4 x 4, 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 inches, making them ideal for the test and measurement of solar cells.
According to Ed Manke, product manager for Newport's Oriel instruments, "We are very excited to introduce our next-generation technology in the new Oriel Sol3A solar simulators to the rapidly growing photovoltaic test and measurement markets. We have supported this market for more than 30 years by delivering proven performance and rugged durability with our test and measurement products. Our new line of Sol3A solar simulators is an excellent addition to the Oriel line of photovoltaic test and measurement solutions, which includes the critical technologies that drive solar cell development such as IV testing (current-voltage measurement) and quantum efficiency (QE) measurement, both external quantum efficiency (EQE) and internal quantum efficiency (IQE). The result is a cost-effective system rugged design– all backed by our global service and support network."
