Universal Sorting and Equalizing System
The UES is a product routing system as an extension to an automatic price labeler. It intelligently compiles batches, boxes or bags with a standardized fixed weight from a choice of products with weight tolerances. Therefore, the UES helps to optimize product usage of food, non-food, fresh and frozen products. The import of the product weights through a standardized data interface from a price labeler saves an additional weighing process.

The ability to inspect the entire backside allows for faster root-cause analysis of zone 5 defects since such defects can migrate from the wafer interior. |

Recognising the rising cost in fab space Syniad Systems have developed a unique multipurpose inspection and sorting tool. The MultiSpecTM enhances the functions of wafer sorting, microscope inspection and bright light inspection all in a single small footprint tool. Customers are allowed to configure the tool to match their own unique requirements.
Example: A customer has a requirement for wafer sorting and bright light inspection. In this scenario, Syniad can configure the tool to "not" include Microscope Inspection and the sales price will be reduced.

Sortation systems are used when a fairly high flow of cases, totes or pieces need to flow to different destinations. Destinations may be conveyors assigned to individual truck docks, truck routes, customer orders or other order consolidation assignments. There are several sortation technologies used to accomplish these tasks.
Many operations require sort rates less than 30 items per minute. Tote systems, smaller case distribution operations, service parts centers and many other operations require cost effective low rate sortation technologies.
Diverter Arms. The most cost effective sortation devices available are diverter arms. Some are shaped like “baseball bats” and come across the conveyor to deflect products at an angle, 30° typically, onto a different conveyor. Other diverters are curved to divert to product onto a take away conveyor at 90° while maintaining product orientation. Diverter arms can be manually activated, or they can be controlled automatically with scanning technology.
Right Angle Transfers. A right angle transfer operates by engaging the bottom of a unit-load, lifting it off the transportation conveyor and transferring it onto another conveyor at a 90° angle. Transfers mechanisms can be chain transfers or belt transfers. Typical rates achieved are 8 – 20 sorts per minute depending on the size and stability of the product. |

The system can translate production orders received from an ERP system into instructions for system and machine controllers and so start active packaging and material handling. After the materials leave the system the required data can be uploaded.
