Suitable for applications across all industries from heavy engineering to food processing, they deliver a tailored continuous curtain of air across conveyor lines to achieve contact-free cleaning, drying and/or cooling of components/products.
Applications include moisture removal from water-cooled engineering components, de-dusting of machined plastics, drying bottles and cans, and cleaning conveyors employed for transporting products.
There are many different types of manufacturing applications suitable for the using an air knife. Typically they are used for cleaning, drying and cooling any type of surface ranging from cans and bottles to textiles and extrusions.
ACI AirKnives are used on the AirBus production line for removing swarf during machining of wing components; for moisture removal on the tinplating line at the Corus Trostre Works and bottle and can drying for companies like CocaCola, and InBev.

ITW Vortec's Curtain Transvectors are air amplifiers, which use a small amount of compressed air to produce a strong, high velocity, laminar sheet of air. Nex Flow™ air blade™ air knives are superior to competitive units for the following reasons:
- All our air knives are full flow which means they can be put end to end for continuous flow and takes up less space in tight areas. Even one competitor's so-called full-flow standard answer to our Nex Flow™ standard air blade air knife is not nearly as efficient as ours by their own published values and is only a small, flimsy version in comparison.
- All our air knives come with a stainless steel shim to maintain the gap for the compressed air to exit. Streamtek Air Knife systems utilize compressed air for industrial applications that include dust blow off, drying, cooling, and removing excess liquids/oils.
An air knife is effective and efficient. The uniform (laminar) sheet of air is projected along the entire length of the Air Knife to provide an air flow that covers the entire surface of the product.
System payback on compressed air savings can be in as little as a few weeks for some applications.

By removing excess moisture from product, Key's Air Knife improves plant efficiency, reduces operating costs, and enhances product quality. The Air Knife features an over-line double air plenum with remote high velocity blower that provides both primary and secondary air curtains to strip moisture from product. The product momentarily stops as it flows to the primary air curtain, where it rolls, then proceeds forward for the final pass through the air curtain.

MM-H SERIES
