The VARIO LINE includes spring pressure single-disc brakes for direct current which can be matched to the individual application due to a wide range of variants. Electromagnetically operated spring pressure brakes build up the the braking torque when the current is switched off. By means of the electromagnetic force or an additionally mounted hand lifting device the braking effect can be neutralized. Fitting dimensions and the grading of the type series of the VARIO LINE are matched to IEC-motors.

Hydraulically released spring-applied multi-disc brakes
Applications:
There is a variety of possibilities to use hydraulically released spring-applied multi-disc brakes in the stationary and mobile sector, also combined with hydraulic motors. The brakes can be integrated in the oil circuit of the motor.
When starting the hydraulic motors, the brakes release with oil pressures of 15 - 38 bar. Thereafter the full system pressure up to 320 bar can be connected.
The brakes can be used in wet and dry operation. With failure of the oil pump, an emergency release is possible.
Characteristics:
* Torques from 30 to 500000 Nm (higher torques on request)
* Oil pressure from 15 to 50 bar for releasing, thereafter the system pressure up to 320 bar can be connected
* Application in wet or dry operation possible
* Several friction faces
* Less residual torque in open condition
* Smallest dimensions with high torque
* High heat capacity
* Requiring less maintenance
* Simple handling
* Single and double bearing
* Sealing face wear-resistant and corrosion-proof
* Variety of executions to catalogue D 227

Light to heavy duty braking applications are served by these fast-acting calipers. Sensitive and rapid response to air pressure level also makes them ideal for tension control applications.
Friction pads are secured by quick-release clips.
The MS, MX and GMRP series have spring retraction to insure ample pad clearance when the brake is released. The MS and MX series have an interchangeable range of air actuators

The spring brake actuator system always ensures that the vehicle is braked even if the electrical equipment fails or if there is a power failure.
The explosion-proof design is also used for braking pit locomotives in underground mining.
Benefits:
small dimensions and lightweight
easy to install and connect
soft and jerk-free braking
does not ice up or freeze at low temperatures
no problems with leaky lines
no noise pollution
no media disposal and especially enviroment-friendly
low operating and service costs
