General Information
HTMS Metal- C-Ring seals are made from high temperature alloy strip. The strip is cut to the required length and tig welded. The C-shape is then formed in a tool or is roll formed for bigger sizes. HTMS Metal C Rings are a logical development over our popular Metal O Ring. Metal C Rings have a better spring back then same size Metal O Rings. The seating load or the required bolting force is lower than for similar sized Metal O Rings. HTMS Metal C Rings will compensate greater flange rotation and maintain positive sealing load, better than Metal O Rings.
For sealing thin gas or low viscosity fluids, HTMS recommend to soft plate the bare metal seal with such materials as silver, gold or tin. Also PTFE as a coating is available.
For extreme low leakage requirements at elevated temperatures HTMS also produces spring energized metal C Rings. This CS design is basically a metal C Ring with an inserted high tensile spring.

General Information
HTMS Metal- O-Ring seals are made from high precision metal tube. Contrary to flat gaskets, HTMS Metal-O- Rings require extreme low bolting load. Because they feature a certain resiliency or spring back, HTMS Metal O Rings will compensate minor flange rotation and maintain positive sealing load to the sealing surface.
For sealing thin gas or low viscosity fluids, HTMS recommend to soft plate the bare metal seal with such materials as silver, gold or tin. Also PTFE as a coating is available.
HTMS Metal O Rings are made for internal or external pressure. For high pressure application HTMS advises vented or system pressure assisted Metal O Rings.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an almost chemically inert thermoplastic material which retains useful mechanical properties over a wide range of temperatures. These characteristics have caused PTFE to be used as a sealing material, particularly where lubrication problems exist.
In order to meet the demanding physical properties required, Crossley 'O' rings are manufactured from moulded stress-relieved virgin materials that are processed under strict controls to ensure they meet dimensional stability and conform to the highest standards. |

These seal rings are normally used in sets as valve stem or reciprocating pump packings. A set is usually made up of a male and female end rings for ease of seating in the gland.
Two standard 'V' forms are used. The first 60 and 90 levels for low and medium pressure service, and the second has 90 levels only, for high pressure service. In both cases a central gap is formed to give the flexure required under pressure.
The number and combination of rings per set is dependent upon the pressure and the depth of the gland. |

Use of mounting thread environmental seal materials maximizes the efficiency of the NPT seal. Conax Buffalo recommends
- Teflon tape for use up to 450F (232C)
- Grafoil tape for use between 450F (232C) and 900F (482C). |

The design features are single seal, unbalance, independent of the direction of retation, single spring and elastomer bellows. The bellows is not subjected to any torsional stress and its ingenious design incorporates several functions, as seal face carrier, secondary sealing element and drive collar. The seal face is driven through the spring and L-rings. There are not bonded joints and all the face materials are interchangeable without having to modify any dimensions. Highly recommended for duties with media containing solids e.g. in waste water and sewage applications.

Extruded and jointed "O" rings are our preferred method of production, but moulded versions are available if specifically requested.
Both silicone & fluorosilicone with all varieties of fillers are available for the manufacture of "O" rings.

Patented composite gasket consisting of a massive LATTYgraf E expanded graphite sealing dam, die-formed in place, between stainless steel rings used as compression limiters.
The main feature of this gasket lies into a metal-to-metal contact. During operation, the compression limiter ring protects the LATTYgraf E seal by absorbing all mechanical stresses from the pipework, thermal shocks, etc.
