Creep-Feed-, Profile- and HEDG-grinding with the MICRON machine range
The MICRON – machine tools are consequently designed for creep-feed-, profile- and high efficiency deep grinding. Dis-advantageous details, usual with other profile-grinding machines, were eliminated. They are space-saving, compact designed and combining rigidity and dynamic with high-precision accuracy. The machine type “Macro-S”, for example, has a width of only 1500mm but all the properties to perform efficient profile-grinding operations.
MICRON – machines are fitted with high-precision linear guides, ball screws and digital servo-drives on all axes. The modern Siemens 840D CNC machine control system allows free contour formation during grinding and dressing and can interpolate up to five axes simultaneously. The MICRON machine-range is used in almost all sectors of industry for producing components. In the aerospace industry and energy production the machines are used, for instance, to precisely and economically grind blades for turbines, vanes and compressor parts. Profile- and Creep-feed-grinding is also an economical alternative to milling and is used industrial wide where profiles with high accuracy and surface quality have to be manufactured from the solid work piece.

Every ShaftGrind L installed, is the concrete transformation of the requirements specific to the work piece into an optimally designed production concept. It doesn't matter whether you work with one component over several years or if the spectrum of application varies or expands ShaftGrind system with its modular design offers you diversified solutions.
ShaftGrind L can be obtained as a single- or double-slide machine, with a grinding length of 650 mm or up to 1.100mm or as ShaftGrind L synchro. Each slide is equipped with a slewable spindle. Needless to say, the B-axis is available for both sildes. Thus, the ShaftGrind L can be configured completely with one to six spindles that are independent of each other or used simultaneously.
Patented slewable spindle with high speed balancing system ranging from 70 up to 370mm
The second grinding spindle which swivels around the first spindle, offers the unique facility of grinding the concave cam contour with the highest possible precision. The external diameter of the first spindle thereby forms the bearing for the swivelling spindle. This patent, by the application of a general swivelling point, provides the highest precision in the shortest
inervention times possible. The large grinding wheel fixed on the slewable spindle with a diameter ranging from 70 to 370 mm, guarantees a long tool life. When changing the grinding wheel - (depending on the grinding spindle installed) - the balancing system restores the operability in less than two seconds. That is High-speed.

A clear - cut operator - friendly concept was a precondition in the design of the PRECIMAT and PLANOMAT lines. Easy accessibility to the working area was as equally important as the compact design and the simple installation. All machine axes utilize precision ball screws and A.C. servo-motors.

2D triangulation sensors (Laser Scanners)
RF620 Series
Application domain
The laser scanners are intended for non-contact measuring and checking of surface profile, dimensions, sorting and sensing of technological objects. The series includes 13 standard scanners (100 profiles/s for the full range) and 9 models of High Speed scanners (250 and 500 profiles/s for the full range)
Operating principle
Operation of the sensors is based on the principle of optical triangulation
Radiation of a semiconductor laser is formed by a lens in a line and projected to an object . Radiation scattered from the object is collected by the lens and directed to a two-dimensional CMOS-array. The image of object outline thus formed is analyzed by a signal processor, which calculates the distance to the object (Z-coordinate) for each point of the set along the laser line on the object (X-coordinate).

O2DS Scanner measures where others give up - think of hot rolled steel.
The O2DS scanner is an optoelectronic unit for non-contact precision measurement in two dimensions, developed for 2D- / profile-measurement in all kinds of industrial applications.
The O2DS is a laser scanner of the Flying Spot type. The measurement is performed by oscillating the triangulation plane over an angel up to 50°. A fine focused/collimated laser beam is diffusely reflected from the surface of almost any kind of object, and a CCD-camera records the image through an objective.
The measuring frequency is 2 kHz. Different scanning angels can be combined with four different measuring ranges. The smallest range covers 80 to 180 mm and the largest 380 to 1080 mm. The smaller the measuring range is, the higher the resolution will be.
As well as the ODS sensors, the 02DS scanner can be delivered as HT (high temperature) models for measuring on objects with surface temperature up to about 1200°C. Used under such conditions, precautions must be taken to protect the scanner from the heat.
Scanners can furthermore be customized to other than standard scan angels and measuring ranges.

Cobra 2D is a portable laser scanning system that provides high resolution linear profiles. And since it uses low power laser light, it is ideal for fragile or pliable parts that have critical surface contours. It's quick and easy to measure height, length, slope, and radius.
Its Scan-X®software makes scanning easy. View and analyze scans for the dimensional information you need. The heart of the system is field proven DRS™ (Digital Range Sensor) technology, combined with accurate motor control, and data analysis software. Since Cobra 2D scans by moving the DRS sensor over the surface, no special fixturing is required. Cobra is portable. When used with a laptop computer, you can take it where you need it.

The Z500 laser measurement sensor solves the problem of how to measure a workpiece in-line for both width and height/depth at one time. Compared to single axis laser and vision systems, Z500 provides a unique advantage by measuring in X axis and Z axis simultaneously, improving accuracy and speed of the inspection.
Performs simultaneous width and depth/height measurements in one cycle
Eight measurement modes available, including a combination of step, width and edge position
No work piece or sensor movement required: improves measurement precision and reduces measurement cycle time
Z500 performs all data processing and calculations, eliminates need for other controllers
Two-dimensional SW-CCD and multiple incident level control allow shape measurement of curved work pieces and a wide variety of other surfaces

Cobra™ 3D is a non-contact measuring instrument capable of automatically acquiring a series of linear profiles in order to map an area for 3D analysis. 3D profiles provide important detail easily missed in a single linear profile. For example, the symmetry of a critical feature clearly shows in a 3D plot. Scanning an area also proves that the apex of a feature was scanned, an important capability not easily verified with a single linear scan.
Cobra 3D uses proven DRS™(Digital Range Sensor) laser technology to scan surfaces with up to 0.125 µm Z height resolution. Computer controlled motors move the DRS over the part while a precision stage translates the part beneath the DRS to build up a series of linear scans. Scan-X® analysis software controls the process and presents the results graphically and numerically.
The optional video camera makes setup even easier and provides live color imaging of the scanning process for visual verification of the scan location on the part.

LMC-M-M2D-LASER for Profile-Contour Scanning
The Scanner M2D provides 2-dimensional measuring of profile heights. The measured objects may consist of various materials. A laser line is projected onto the target and the distance to several points of the object is measured by triangulation. The Scanner is suitable for the geometric profile recognition and distance measurement. The height (Z-axis) by distance (X-axis) is measured. The result is the contour of the object at the point of measurement. Every 20 ms a complete scan of 283 points of measurement, or every 40 ms a scan with 566 points of measurement is done. The measurement range works from 5...1200 mm (X-axis) and 8...600mm(Z-axis).
Typical applications
Precise guidance of handling-robots:
– disc mounting, positioning of car-bodies, gap adjustment in the automotive industry
