This series of double disc grinders are high production and an efficient solution for processing flat and parallel surfaces at the lowest per piece cost. Various working modes include rotary, through-feed, reciprocating, continuous and plunge grinding mode which are selected according to process requirements. Horizontal axis machines are ideal for grinding gearbox faces, connecting rod faces and plunge grinding for piston rings. Available in grinding wheel diameters from 450 to 1050 mm and with wheel spindle power up to 100 kW.

The 524 & 624 Easy models are all new surface grinders. The 524 having a 500 x 200mm (20" x 8") table capacity and the 624 a 600 x 200mm (24" x 8") table capacity. Both models have been specifically designed to offer unrivalled ease-of-use coupled to the highest levels of productivity and accuracy.

Surface Grinding Machine: Its Functionality and Applications
One of the most impressive surface grinders for justifiable manufacturers is Chevalier’s PC based SMART CNC Grinder, which features factory graphic conversational programmed canned cycles for a range of tasks, including; CNC wheel dressing surface, crisscross, plunge and multi-slot grinding. With the new grinding machine model STEEL LINEAR both reciprocating and slow creep-feed grinding operations can be carried out so to obtain concave or convex profiles both crosswise and longitudinally. This machine can be equipped with supplementary devices such as side wheelheads and dividing heads for grinding any parts of complex configuration, which normally would require several set-ups. This eliminates problems concerning work-in-process and therefore increases the productivity of the machine. ROSA SYSTEM VII CNC (Siemens Sinumerik 840 Di) unit.
The table runs on preloaded crossed-roller monorails which prevent the negative stick-slip effect and offer a damping effect as to vibrations. The vertical axis and the cross axis are driven by ballscrews with double preloaded screw-nut, powered by AC brushless motors, whose motion is controlled by an encoder or, on request, by optical scales with millesimal resolution.
The standard power-rate of the wheel motor is 11 kW (available as an option up to 22 kW). Digital Linear motor for table axis (X): Fmax=6.500 Nm. Maximum cube which can be ground: 1500x750x600 (h)mm.

Diskus double surface lateral grinding machine with vertical spindle.
This machine model is a steel-welded, box-frame design with greater rigidity than a comparable portal machine. The two vertical , directly driven motor spindles with liquid cooling each have an output of 23 kW to 48 kW. They are attached to rolling bearing compact carriages which perform all feed and return motions with a precision screw drive.
The machine version required for this application can be used as a plunge cut as well as throughfeed grinding machine. A number of parts can be ground simultaneously with the planetary drive provided with controlled rotation. While they are fed to the grinding tools using the plunge cut process in a planetary gear which rotates around its own axis. Replacement of the transport plate allows the same machine to be used for throughfeed grinding.

With SATURN double-disc surface grinding, two vertical grinding wheels simultaneously grind the workpiece on its parallel outer surfaces. The grinding wheels are set against each other at a slightly conical angle, so that as it passes from top to bottom, the workpiece retains its final dimension only in the bottom section of the grinding path. Because the workpieces are fed vertically between the grinding wheels, the bearing weight of the workpiece does not affect the grinding result. What’s more, the
coolant can simply drain downwards together with the removed material. The SATURN range comprises three
different machining processes:

The design of the LINEA SILVER is inspired by the same construction and modularity criteria which feature the LINEA STEEL machines. LINEA SILVER can be utilized both for small batches (even single pieces) and for big series. Furthermore, it offers the possibility of grinding in unmanned cycles.
This range consists of five models for grinding sizes from 450x850x700(h) to 4250x850x700(h) mm. Alternatively, there are two control systems, i.e. either CNC or NC, the software of which has been purposely developed directly by Rosa Ermando SpA.
Our CNC solution offers rapidity of use due to complete parameterized cycles. The utilization of softkeys makes the operator's job quite easy and quick. The standard power-rate of the wheel motor is 15 kW.
