OSPrey800 - A revolution in OSP thickness measurement
OSPrey800This instrument measures Organic Solderablity Preservative (OSP) thickness on the individual pads of real-time production boards. The ability to target individual pads allows specific quality control, failure analysis and troubleshooting of the OSP layer. The OSPrey800%u2019s unique non-destructive quality control technique requires neither test coupons nor sample preparation and significantly reduces the time needed to take measurements and operator error.
Other techniques for measuring OSP thickness are either destructive, labor intensive, or expensive. The OSPrey800 utilizes an innovative new technique in which various wavelengths of light are aimed at a sample and the light reflected from the surface of coating and substrate is analyzed to determine coating thickness. Typical thicknesses from 0.035-3µm can be measured and analyzed.

Non-destructive measurement of non-magnetic coatings, e.g. paint, enamel, chrome on steel and insulating coatings, e.g. paint and anodizing coatings on non-ferrous metals.
Universal probe with auto-mode for measurements on steel and non-ferrous metals
With the Universal Probe (MiniTest 600FN only) and "auto-mode" the probe senses the type of substrate the coating is applied over and automatically switches to either the Magnetic Induction or the Eddy Current principle. Eliminates manual adjustments and ensures that the correct principle is always utilized without having to know the actual type of substrate coated.
Wear-resistant probes of practically unlimited lifetime

The Sonacoat P is the new paint thickness gauge from Sonatest Ltd -providing fast, accurate, non-destructive coating thickness measurements on steel and non-ferrous materials.
No surface damage, no grinding required.
Fast and easy to use - by simply placing the Sonacoat P on the surface to be tested, an accurate thickness reading is shown on the large display screen. This gauge also automatically selects the optimum measuring method (magnetic induction or eddy current), providing highly accurate readings, even for the thinnest of coatings. No calibration is required.
Find out more about your bodywork!
Ideal for auto dealers, inspections stations, auto paint and body shops the Sonacoat P can also provide the end user with valuable information regarding the coating structure such as paint topcoats or body fillers. When the measured thickness value clearly exceeds the standard paintwork thickness, this would then indicate the use of filler material or repainting.
The speed, simplicity and accuracy of the Sonacoat P make this gauge an invaluable tool for a wide range of inspection tasks.

| Thickness is an important process parameter for the prevention of tool or machine damage or to monitor product quality according to ISO 9000 in blanking presses, slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, scroll shears and other coil processing machinery. Continuous thickness measurement makes the monitoring of the cost of purchased material possible. ROLAND has single sensor measurement systems as well as non-contact dual probe systems available. The systems function according to the magnetic, inductive, or capacitance principles. Detailed measurement protocols according to SPC criteria provide objective information for negotiating with coil suppliers. |

Coating Thickness Gauge PAINT BORER 518 S
For film thickness measurements using the wedge cut technique. Combines the advantages of P.I.G. 455 with greater ease of operation: a conical bore of defined angle is made in the coating. Measuring microscope, easily and accurately focused over the cut out. Minimum specimen damage allows a large number of test points. Specimen table for extremely small specimens (dia. 10 mm) available as accessory. Due to the mobility of the microscope into two directional axes (turned by 90° from one another) with the possibility of turning the scale, the PAINT BORER 518 S is especially suitable for the evaluation of elliptical holes that arise with curved specimens. |

Nor-Cal offers an extensive selection of commonly used quartz crystal feedthroughs, sensors and multi-channel monitors, cables, quartz crystals, accessories and replacement parts for use in semiconductor, optical and industrial thermal deposition processes. Custom feedthroughs are available with a variety of flanges in all sizes.
Our coating instrumentation products support one of the more popular methods of thin film measurement and rate control _ the crystal monitor, which utilizes the piezoelectric properties of a quartz crystal.
The electrical characteristics of the crystal, which is held in place by the sensor, change during deposition. Single sensors are generally used for short deposition runs, whereas, dual sensors allow for longer runs. Dual sensors require an airline to operate a pneumatic shutter which covers one crystal at a time. The sensor is either welded to the feedthrough or attached with connectors. Most sensors are available with cooling lines.
The application determines the correct choice of sensor. The sensor determines compatible feedthroughs and cabling. The chamber determines the appropriate feedthrough and flange. For application temps up to 150°C, electrical connection between the sensor and feedthrough is accomplished with a vacuum coaxial cable. A bakeable, one piece sensor/feedthrough replaces the standard in-vac cable with a stainless steel high-temp coaxial line for high temperature applications up to 300°C. |
