The DDS Bomb vessel is unique in that it is the first of its kind and displays the following features:
The vessel is smaller than conventional vessels, which results in a smaller heat capacity. Special attention has been given to a thermally balanced vessel design which has been achieved using computer aided design (CAD) and computer simulation of heat transfer characteristics.
The vessel has an oxygen volume of 0.22 litres (220ml), which allows for a 0,5gr coal sample at approximately 30MJ/Kg. The temperature sensors are located cylindrically within the vessel walls at eight places.
The approximate temperature rise of the vessel after burning of 0,5gr benzoic acid is 9 degrees C. Practical tests have shown that up to 0.8gr of benzoic acid can be burnt without affectin g the accuracy. Oxygen starvation affects the results with higher charges.
The vessel is "smart" with an microprocessor built into the base of the unit. All the information pertinent to a vessel is stored permanently inside the vessel i.e. vessel number, calibration, number of firings, date of last reconditioning etc.

Storage devices serve a number of purposes on a refrigeration system. On the high side of a system, the receiver will hold additional system refrigerant charge. On the low side of the system, the accumulator will trap excess liquid, keeping it from getting to the compressor. The oil separator will remove oil from the discharge vapor and return it to the compressor.
The A-AS protects the compressor from liquid slugging and is used with CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants. It is available for systems through 28 tons nominal capacity.

Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) is an excellent gaseous dielectric for high voltage power applications. It has been used extensively in high voltage circuit breakers and other switchgear employed by the power industry. Applications for SF6 include gas insulated transmission lines and gas insulated power distribution substations. The combined electrical, physical, chemical and thermal properties offer many advantages when used in power switchgear. Some of the outstanding properties of SF6 which make its use in power applications desirable are:
high dielectric strength
unique arc-quenching ability
excellent thermal stability
good thermal conductivity
However advantageous the above properties are, Sulfur Hexafluoride is considered to be a fully fluorinated compound (FFC). Since FFC's have atmospheric lifetimes of up to 50,000 years, these potent greenhouse gases could contribute significantly and, essentially, permanently to global warming if emissions continue to grow. For example, lets compare the global warming potential of CO2 and SF6. CO2 has a global warming potential of 1, whereas SF6 has a global warming potential of 24,900!! Also, over the past year or so, the price of new SF6 gas has increased in price by as much as 600%!!
Due to the above reasons, SF6 is used mostly in applications that allow reclamation as opposed to using it on equipment that requires release of the gas, only to be re-filled with virgin SF6. ENERVAC produces a complete line of SF6 recovery and test equipment, from full sized gas reclaimers down to small decomposition detectors.

Parr offers non-stirred pressure vessels in convenient style, sizes and pressure ranges for many laboratory uses. Applications for these vessels extend to all types of laboratory work wherever a chemical reaction or physical test must be performed under pressure at elevated temperature. For all tasks requiring continuous application of substantial material / paint quantities at a steady pressure, SATA paint pressure tanks are the ideal solution. Different tank sizes, ranging from 2 to 100 iters, and variable pressure adjustment allow almost unlimited possibilities. Accessories dedicated to special tasks, such as manual, pneumatic or electric agitators are available.
Both low viscosity paints and high viscosity or abrasive materials can be applied swiftly and without problems with SATA paint pressure tanks.
