Parker has developed a nitrogen generation tyre compression unit, which have been specially designed for delivering high quality compressed nitrogen into tyres. Called TyreSaver and Truck TyreSaver the new range offers unsurpassed levels of service life and potential savings of $100'000 on tyre maintenance and downtime in a one year period. This means, a truck tyre inflated with nitrogen could easily go an extra 50'000 miles before the tyres need servicing.
The units are designed for filling tyres with nitrogen supplying the purity required to keep the tyres at constant pressure. Equipped for connection to an external nitrogen storage vessel or directly to the airline, the generator will automatically switch on and off depending on the nitrogen demand.
The compressed air can be sourced either from a central system, or from a dedicated compressor. High quality compressed air filtration, coarse, fine and carbon filters protect the membranes ensuring long membrane life.
Nitrogen in tyres is a concept which has been adopted by road haulage firms in the United States and Canada, who have been using Truck TyreSaver for the last three years. Moreover the concept is widely used in the Motorsport industry and NASA for a number of years, one factor behind this is Nitrogen's low risk of combustion. |

OPERATING MODE
These generators use the newest membrane technology for the electrolytic production of pure H2 gas. This technology was preferred over alternative hydrogen generating techniques because it is clean, requires less maintenance and there is no need to store chemicals to maintain operation. Hydrogen is produced by electrolysis of water through a polymer membrane. Only pure water, either distilled or deionised, is required to provide trouble free long term operation. A dessican t cartridge purifies the hydrogen.
Safety features :
The small contained volume(< 50 ml )makes the generator safe for operation in spaces where cylinder hydrogen is restricted. An auto shutt off procedure places the unit in standby in the event of an internal error, and selectable alarms allow the user to be informed whenever operating conditions vary from the set point. |
