One of Peak Scientific’s best known and loved products is the NM20ZA Nitrogen Generator. This generator model was designed in the year 2000 to cater for the requirements of Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex LCMS Applications.
However, time does not stand still and as Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex have further developed their applications, more and more gas was required- so much so, that the NM20ZA could no longer cater for the requirements of all API Models, but was limited to the range up to the API4000.
As such it was time for Peak Scientific to let the NM20ZA grow up and redevelop it in such a way that it could provide curtain, source and exhaust gas to the entire range, including the latest API5500.
The result is the brand new ABN2ZA Nitrogen Generator. Like the NM20ZA, which is still going to be available, this new model provides a source of Nitrogen gas as well as 2 independent supplies of clean, dry air.
With the ABN2ZA based on proven technology, it selectively removes oxygen, moisture and other gases to leave clean, dry, phthalate free Nitrogen and Dry Air. Two internal air compressors make this unit independent from in- house air supplies and fitted castors allow the user to easily position the unit in the lab. The unit has further been approved by Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex to supply curtain, source and exhaust gas to their LCMS Applications.

Specifically designed to operate LCMS Instruments manufactured by Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex, the AB-3G produces Nitrogen and Dry Air through 3 independent outputs in the required flow rates, purities and pressures to cater for the requirements of all available Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex LCMS Models, including the new API5500.
The AB-3G essentially combines two separate gas generator systems in one unit, with the source and exhaust gases (Dry Air) being generated using one system and the curtain gas (Nitrogen) being generated by the other. The AB-3G utilises proven membrane technology that selectively removes oxygen, moisture and other gases to leave clean, dry, phthalate free Nitrogen and Dry Air.
To ensure this new generator model, meets Peak Scientific’s high expectations with regards to reliability and performance, Peak Scientific has tested these new models extensively at our manufacturing plant and with end users around the world to ensure reliability and longevity of the systems.
Applied Biosystems/ MDS Sciex have further approved these products to supply Nitrogen and Dry Air to all of their LCMS Applications.
Peak Gas Generators are unique in that they are simple to install and easy to use. After initial installation and set up, the generator will operate continuously with virtually no operator involvement and optimum performance can be maintained with an annual service visit. Elimination of the purchasing process, storage and movement of cylinders will also significantly reduce the time and costs associated with supplying gas to an LCMS System.

Digital data is either stored continuously and synchronously with the analog data or as an angle marker with each data segment (Option Mutliple Recording needed).
Digital data can be either acquired fully in parallel or as a combination of a counter input and parallel digital data. The acquisition
mode can be programmed by software.
When operating in continuous mode the analog and digital data is stored alternating in the on-board memory. For each 14 bit analog sample there is one corresponding 16 bit digital sample.
When operating in segmented marker mode there is one 16 bit digital sample stored at the end of each acquired segment holding the azimuth
and elevation angle for this segment of analog data.
Acquisition can run with full sampling speed independant of the selected mode.

The MX.70xx series of fast digital I/O boards offer a resolution between 16 bit and 32 bit with a maximum sampling rate of 125 MS/s (60 MS/s). The on-board memory of up to 128 MByte could be completely used for recording or replaying digital data. Alternatively the MX.70xx could be used in FIFO mode. Then data is transferred on-line to PC memory or hard disk. The internal standard synchronisation bus allows synchronisation of several MX.xxxx boards. Therefore the MX.70xx board could be used as an enlargement to analogue boards.
