The LumaSense Accufiber®TR solution provides temperature monitoring with automatic emissivity correction. Emissivity changes are due to changing material properties during certain types of material deposition or processing. For specular (smooth) surfaces, the deposition surface’s emissivity can be calculated from its reflectance. By constantly measuring this reflectance, the AccufiberTR instrument can automatically perform the emissivity correction in-situ and calculate the surface’s true temperature.
AccufiberTR seamlessly integrates ultra precise reflectance measurements with LumaSense’s class leading, lowest signal-to-noise ratio radiation detectors. If the n and k values are known for the materials, then the amplitude and periodicity of the thin film reflectance (often referred to as “fringes”) at specific wavelengths can be used to calculate film thickness. For thin films, it is critical to use both the highest quality measurement systems and shorter wavelengths to offer “resolution” into the film’s fringes to monitor film thickness.

Turbine Sentry - System Overview
An overview of the complete system and how this system is of benefit to gas turbine operators.
A typical system comprises three parts:
Blade Sentry - Measurement Pyrometer
The non-contact thermometer is mounted through the gas turbine casing and measures the temperatures of individual rotor blades.
Rotor Sentry - Data Acquisition System
The DAS logs individual blade temperature readings taken by the measurement pyrometers, samples and processes the data for use by the data analysis software, Data Sentry.
Data Sentry - Data Analysis Software
This powerful pc-based software utility has all the tools and functions necessary to obtain a complete picture of how efficiently the gas turbine is running, as well as identifying potential problems at an early stage.

Hall-effect sensors
Hall-effect sensors are suitable for proximity rotational speed recording on gears with a small module and high resolution. The various models can be used in a wide range of applications, even under extreme conditions. SH type rotational speed sensors are used in a wide variety of applications in mechanical engineering, vehicles and mobile working machines, as well as in hydraulic drives.
The sensor detects the movement of ferromagnetic structures such as gears using the change in the magnetic flux. The sensor is biased using a permanent magnet. Teeth and gaps which moves past the sensor affect the magnetic field in different ways. This changes the Hall voltage on a hall-effect sensor.
This means the changes to the magnetic field can be converted to electrical values, and then filtered and processed. The output signal of the sensor is a square wave voltage which reflects the change in the magnetic field.

Hydro-View
Monitor that displays moisture content readings from sensors
Located normally in a control panel, the Hydro-View unit is a simple to use moisture monitor that displays both the instantaneous and batch average moisture contents from a Hydronix sensor.
The unit which is available in both panel and wall mounting configurations may be used as a stand alone system for display purposes or with a batch controller to provide dynamic batch weight correction. A simple keypad arrangement on the front panel enables all operations to be easily configured and results viewed on the LCD display. Hydro-View is a multi-language system.
Trend Display
A unique facility of the Hydro-View monitor is the 'Trend Display' which will graphically chart the following four functions:
Raw sensor input voltage (V)
Sensor voltage after conditioning (Vc)
Instantaneous Moisture % (M)
Average Moisture % (A)
Although only one trace can be displayed at any one time, all four values are recorded simultaneously and any of the four traces may be selected. It is therefore possible to compare for example the raw sensor input voltage trace to the conditioned signal to assess the effectiveness of the signal conditioning parameters selected.

Western Research Model 241CE monitors the hydrocarbon dew point of pipeline quality natural gas. Hydrocarbon dew point monitoring is important to both pipeline operators and gas turbine operators since too high a dew point can cause operational difficulties and dramatically shorten equipment life. The Model 241 is a first principal device using a thermoelectric cooler to cool the gas to determine the dew point temperature.
