In addition to long-term stability, interchangeability and accuracy, elementary sensors are additionally characterized by small size footprints of only a few square millimeters. The temperature application range, however, is extremely high: from -196° Celsius to +1000° Celsius!
To increase the ease of use in mass production applications, Heraeus Sensor Technology has enhanced the capabilities of elementary sensors. DBS sensors, for example, are equipped with rectangular connecting wires that offer superior directional stability when compared to round wires. The DBS sensors, which are available in several different standard wire lengths, can eliminate the need for expensive extension leads.
Ideas developed by Heraeus Sensor Technology have simplified the need for further processing of SMD sensors. The FC-type SMD sensor, for example, which have no edge-metallization, can be die-bonded on PCBs instead of soldered, saving time and costs for automated manufacturing processes.

The Film Manifold consists of several layers of resin film bonded together
in which fine channels are engraved. It is much smaller and lighter than
glass or resin block manifolds and can be used in microfluidic applications

EE75 Series
High-Precision Air / Gas Velocity Transmitter for Industrial Applications
The EE75 series air velocity transmitters were developed to obtain accurate measuring results over a wide range of velocities and temperatures.
A high-quality hot film sensor element based on cutting- edge thin film technology ensures maximum sensitivity, even at lowest mass flows.
At the same time, the innovative probe design produces reliable measuring results at high flow velocities of up to 40m/s (8000ft/min). The integrated temperature compen- sation minimises the temperature cross-sensitivity of the EE75 series which, combined with the robust mechanical design, allows it to be used at process temperatures between -40 to +120°C (-40 to 248°F).
In addition to air velocity and temperature values, the transmitter calculates the volumetric flow rate in m³/h or ft³/min. The cross section of the duct needs to be determined for this purpose and the volumetric flow rate can be displayed and directed to one of the analogue outputs.
The EE75 series can be used to measure the velocity of other gases as well, although a correction has to be applied to the unit at the factory.
