Description
The temperature sensor TS-1-A-120-3/8“ can be used for direct temperature measurements inside pipes such as hydraulic and lubricating oil pipes.
In addition to its robust and compact design, this sensor stands out by its high accuracy and its extensive measurement range. As a standard, the housing and all parts exposed to the liquid are made of stainless steel (Type 1.4571) Soft seals consist of Viton.
Can be combined with measuring connector serv Clip® type 2 (for mounting on non-pressurized pipes).

Install miniature sensors in or beneath the babbitt layer of bearing shoes. They monitor metal temperature — the most reliable indicator of bearing condition — to give early warning of oil film breakdown. Machines can then be shut down and the problem corrected before catastrophic failure occurs.
While no larger than many bare ceramic elements, these RTDs have metal cases and insulated leads to withstand rough handling and harsh environments. They’re easy to install in drilled holes for general purpose sensing.

Mainly based on the float switch design, these controllers help to monitor the liquid level (as combined units they monitor both liquid level and temperature) in oil reservoirs of fluid power and lubrication systems.

These RTDs cover the full temperature scale of the international standard EN60751. Precision sensing elements and nickel alloy sheaths are capable of measurements from -200 to 850°C (-328 to 1562°F) with typical ice point drift less than ±0.05°C.
600°C models have stainless steel sheaths for reduced cost. They use the same element structure as 850°C models for excellent accuracy and stability.

The bearings of industrial rotating equipment operate under arduous conditions - often for considerable periods of time. The most reliable indicator of bearing condition is the temperature of the metal beneath the shoe.

The new MLE Series is a range of miniature infrared temperature sensors with separate electronics.
MLE sensors are capable of measuring temperatures in the range -20°C to 500°C and are available with either a current, voltage or thermocouple output.
The miniature sensing head measures just 18 mm diameter x 45 mm. It is made of stainless steel, sealed to IP65, and will operate in ambient temperatures up to +70°C without additional cooling. This makes the MLE Series ideal for applications where there is only a small amount of room available to mount the sensor or the ambient temperature around the sensing head is higher than normal.
The electronics module measures 98 mm x 64 mm x 34 mm. It is made of die-cast aluminium, sealed to IP65, and will operate in ambient temperatures up to +50°C. It is powered from a 24 VDC (28 VDC max) power source.
The emissivity setting is fixed at 0.95, making the MLE Series suitable for the majority of applications where the target is made of a non-reflective material such as paper, plastic, rubber, cloth, food etc. or it can be used to measure metals that are painted, anodised or oxidised. |

thermoMETER: Precise non-contact temperature measurement from -40 to 1,800°C
The thermoMETER product group is targeted at industrial users. The infrared sensors comprise eleven products for stationary use. Amongst others, this includes products such as thermoMETER CT, which has external electronics. This sensor operates in temperatures from -40°C up to +975°C. This also includes the CT laser, which uses an integrated laser optical system to mark actual spot sizes at every distance. The CTglass version of this laser sensor is designed for use in glass production. The miniature sensors in the thermoMETER CS and CS micro series have integrated electronics located in the sensor head in the case of theCS, and directly integrated in the cable for the CS micro. This is particularly beneficial if space is restricted. The range also includes special sensors for use at high ambient temperatures of up to 250°C and for very high object temperatures of up to 1,800°C. A sensor with a response time of less than 3ms is also available very fast processes. To round off the range, an extensive list of accessories are provided for all sensors. These include various optical systems, air purge units, mounting aids and solid cases. |

Insert these thin, laminated RTDs in winding slots to detect high temperatures before insulation damage occurs. RTD temperature sensors continuously monitor conditions and provide the long term trend data that is necessary for making adjustments before unexpected alarms occur.
The sensing elements of stator RTDs extend through most of the body length to provide an average temperature reading. This eliminates the danger of a point-type sensor missing a localized hot spot. Six sensors are recommended for each motor, two per phase. Locate sensors near the hottest point of the windings for best performance.
Some models comply with European standards for electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres: ATEX Directive 94/9/EC EN 50 014: 1997, General requirements EN 50 019: 2000, Increased safety.

Resistance thermometer
Resistance thermometer have a defined resistance value
at 0°C which alters, depending on temperature.
This alteration is presented as temperature value.
Thermo couples
Thermo couples consist of two different metal wires which
are welded together at one point. When the weld spot is
heated, a thermal voltage is generated at the open ends
of the wires which provides the temperature measurement.
The sensors have a modular design and consist of

The connection head for wiring is the standard head of shape B. The protective tube and the measurement insert of the sensor vary, depending on application conditions and temperature range.

A temperature sensor is generally a small diameter cylinder (between 0.5 and 8 mm), varying in length (between 50 mm and several meters), rigid or deformable and immersed in the media to be measured : solid, liquid or gas. The choice depends on the following criteria: temperature range, precision, response time, media to be measured, overall dimensions, pressure, corrosion, attachment and connection.
The PTC technology (PT 100) is totally suited to industrial applications between -50°C and 500°C, in the absence of excessive vibration.
The thermocouple technology allows very short response times and high temperatures but with a lower precision (+/- 2°C on average).
The electrical connection of the sensors is made either using flexible cables or connectors, or on a terminal block inside a small standardised metal case referred to as the "probe head". When the cable is particularly long, it is advisable to use a 4/20 mA measurement converter installed in the probe head.
Some connection devices are ATEX certified in the "d", "e" or "ia" protection modes in a G (gas) or D (dusty) environment. |

The ifm temperature sensors are based on a PT 1000 which converts the measured quantity of temperature into a signal as a result of the change in resistance. A microprocessor controls the evaluation of the electrical signal. For the efector 600 the system temperature is directly indicated on the unit by an LED display.
The electronic circuitry is made in film technology, i.e. a flexible, temperature-stable and extremely resistant polyimide film is used as a carrier for the SMD components. In conjunction with a special potting compound this leads to a high shock and vibration resistance. The microprocessor and the display make the handling of the efector 600 very simple. By means of programming buttons the values for switch point, hysteresis, switching frequency and delay time can be set electronically without the system temperature being present. This enables the installation of the efector 600 in a few minutes. The values are saved in an EEPROM independently of the supply voltage. |
