The TS-520 is an uncalibrated NTC 10 kOhm leaded thermistor with a baked on phenolic coating for durability and long-term stability. These have solid nickel 30 AWG wires with Teflon insulation to provide insulation when assembled in a heat sink or plate with a lead length of 3 inches (76 mm). They are ideal for measuring the temperature of a laser diode or other component during testing. These devices can be calibrated with accuracies to ±0.05°C over their temperature range using the Steinhart-Hart model

The precision temperature gauge TEMP12 is an electronic gauge for the temperature measurement. The device is based on a module system. A variety of ranges of application arises from it. These variants are different with respect to the port connected to a computer, the power supply unit, the number of available measuring channels and the design of casing.
The temperature gauge conceptionally was equipped for the highest precision and high long-term stability (at MTBF > 3000 hours). To be able to fulfi ll the high precision standards in the microelectronics production, specially aged NTC sensors will be built-in. The burn-in process which is carried out at approx. 120 degrees Celsius under N2-atmosphere can be at ultra-precision sensors up to 10 years.

Our Advanced Thermal Products Operation provides a broad range of both NTC and PTC components. NTC thermistors are metal oxide semiconductors that decrease in resistance at temperature increases and are normally used as temperature sensing elements in a wide range of applications. NTC thermistors have a well defined resistance versus temperature characteristic and are very sensitive to even the smallest temperature change.
NTC Ceramic Component Features
• Trimable to very close tolerances; better than ±0.1°C over a 70°C temperature span
• Configurations include discs, epoxy coated chips, radial and axial glass encapsulated and others
• Low cost
• Ideal for high volume OEM applications
PTC thermistors are ceramic semiconductors with a switching characteristic; a very steep resistance versus temperature characteristic near their switch temperature. Spectrum Sensors can provide a custom solution to a range of applications at a low cost with an extremely reliable product by adjusting a range of the electrical and mechanical parameters of the ceramic element.
PTC Ceramic Component Features
• Applications include: heating elements to overcurrent protection, liquid level/air flow and many more
• Adjustable characteristics include switch temperature from approximately 50°C to approximately 170°C, R25 and tolerance, voltage rating, mechanical configuration and many more.

PTC Thermistors
- Bead =<4mm
- From 80ºC to 180ºC
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors are solid-state temperature sensors that have between their terminals, an increasing ohmic response when the Sensing Head is submitted to increasing temperatures. This response is Highly non-linear, around the product Calibration point.

Raychem%u2019s PolySwitch devices are used to help protect against harmful overcurrent surges, and overtemperature faults. Like traditional fuses, these devices limit the flow of dangerously high current during fault conditions. The PolySwitch device, however, resets after the fault is cleared and power to the circuit is removed, thereby reducing warranty, service and repair costs.

Thermistors tend to be more accurate than RTD's and thermocouples, but they have a much more limited temperature range because of their marked non-linearity.
A Thermistor capitalizes on the fact that the electrical resistance of a material changes as its temperature changes. Thermistors rely on the resistance change in a ceramic semiconductor, with the resistance dropping non-linearly with a temperature rise.
Thermistors can be a low cost solution to temperature measurement. They tend to have large signal outputs and their small size permits fast response to temperature changes. UE Thermistors are used to measure temperatures from -45° to 260° C (-50° to 500° F)
