The probe sensing tip is constructed of copper alloy which is twenty times more conductive than stainless steel. The sensors react more quickly to changes and indicate tip temperature instead of stem temperature. The result is better accuracy in thermowells, bearings, and other installations.
- 0.250" diameter is recommended for use in thermowells.
- Copper alloy tip for fast response
- Accurate sensing to 260°C (500°F)
- Non-armor models can be user-shortened

In numerous branches of industry heat-treatment and combustion processes play a decisive role during production and in the quality of the final product.
These applications have one thing in common:
Due to the high temperatures thermocouples are almost always used. Besides the non-precious-metalcontaining ones, mainly types E, J or L, K and N, platinum thermocouples types S, R or B are increasingly being used.
These must be protected against contaminating, corrosive and/or abrasive ambient influences.
For various applications we offer different combinations of ceramic and metallic protection resp. mounting tubes. You will find a list of the designs AM and BM, resp. AMK and BMK, resp. AK and BK, resp. AKK and BKK in our product information ''Straight Thermocouples''.

The EL Series is a range of high quality, low cost, miniature sensors which measure the temperature of inaccessible or moving objects and materials.
They measure temperatures from -20°C to 500°C accurately and consistently, with an outstanding response time of 200 ms.
These sensors are available as either 2-wire units with a 4-20 mA output, or 4-wire units with voltage or thermocouple
outputs. This choice of outputs makes the EL series compatible with almost any indicator, controller, recorder or data-logging instrument.
The EL21 has 2:1 optics making it suitable for most applications where the sensor can be mounted close to the target.
The EL101 is designed for small or distant targets and has an optical resolution of 10:1.
The EL301 is designed for very small or distant targets and has an optical resolution of 30:1.
These compact sensors are small enough to fit almost anywhere and their rugged stainless steel housings make them ideal for applications where cleanliness and hygiene are paramount.
The EL Series Sensors are easy to install and will operate in ambient temperatures up to 50°C. For more hostile environments or difficult mounting conditions a wide range of accessories is available.

Mineral Insulated (MIR and MIT) Sensor
Both the MIR and MIT sensors are manufactured from ready made, stock lengths of stainless steel sheathed, mineral insulated signal or thermocouple wire.
These sensors can be produced in either PT100 RTD or thermocouple formats.
The soft annealed stainless steel sheath is flexible and allows the user to bend and shape the sheath when required. MI´s are available from as small as 0.5mm in diameter, far smaller than is possible with fabricated rigid stems and as such are extremely flexible, though not as robust.
Various diameters and grades of stainless steel are also available to suit process requirements. These sensors are supplied as plain stems with lead wire as standard, alternatively terminal heads are available when required and various process connections to suit.
Sensors are available in single, duplex or triplex formats with resistance thermometers available in 2, 3 or 4 wire connection.

TC with protective armatures
Against chemically and mechanically harsh environments thermocouples are mounted inside protective armatures. The optimum design depends on the individual application.
The alternatives are straight thermocouples, angular thermocouples (preferred for salt baths, metal melting plants, etc.) and thermocouples with exchangeable measuring inserts.
The protection tubes are made of ceramic or metallic highly temperature-resistant materials. The thermocouples are available in different mounting techniques, e.g. screw-in, weld-in or plug-in, with connection flange, or other.

Mineral Insulated Thermocouples are manufactured from mineral oxide insulated metal sheathed cable. Mineral Insulated Cable consists of thermocouple wire insulated by compacted magnesium oxide surrounded by a metal sheath. TCP's Thermo-Pak M. I. Cable is manufactured to exacting standards from the highest quality materials available to ensure accurate and reliable performance with long life. Mineral insulated thermocouples are more durable, faster responding, longer lasting and capable for use at higher temperatures than ceramic insulator or fiberglass insulated thermocouples because the wires are encased and protected by compacted insulation and the metal sheath. Maximum operating temperatures of thermo-pak manufactured thermocouples are determined by the wire calibration type and the sheath alloy selected.
