This system is used mainly for performance of tensile tests on metals as per DIN EN 10002-1. The modular system consists of the materials testing machine (e.g. Zwick Z050) and an automatic specimen feeding system in portal design with a triple-axis robot arm. Add-ons such as the cross-section measurement unit, roughness measurement unit, coating thickness measurement unit as well as a hardness tester complete the system. The specimen magazine can hold up to 400 specimens.

The 600 kN Hydraulic Testing System with Single Side-Acting Hydraulic Grips is completly customizable, the grips are ideal for tensile testing of stranded wire or cable and uniquely feature longer jaw faces to better accommodate gripping. These longer jaw faces are extremely important for tensile testing, as strands can easily slip from conventional grips, ultimately affecting the integrity of the test and test results.
Cost-effectively designed with multiple testing system configurations including tension, compression, bend, shear and flexure, Instron’s KN Series Universal Hydraulic Testing Systems allow for a flexible single test space. The versatility of design also enables the user to easily add test stroke or increase the test opening and the testing space is easily accessible due to upper actuator design.
For increased operator and equipment safety, Instron’s KN Series ensures that the actuator does not travel past the limits of its design. Superior accuracy is provided by Instron’s load cell system and zeroing capability. The variable pressure power pack provides pressure on demand, reducing heat generation for increased oil life, decreasing maintenance and eliminating the need for water cooling.

Servo-Hydraulic Testing Machines
The ExPress line of machines are a bold new approach to servo-hydraulic machines for static testing. Manufactured to exacting standards, these machines are accurate, tough and cost less than conventional hydraulic testing machines. ExPress frames employ strain gage load cells for direct measurement of force. No need to compensate for piston friction and other non-linearities, these frames offer exceptional accuracy and precision while reducing long-term calibration and service costs.
ExPress frames feature a simple design based upon off-the-shelf components for lower cost, faster delivery and long-term availability. Our conservative design is based upon continuous testing to maximum load for years of maintenance free operation. The hydraulic power supply and electronics are integral with the frame thereby saving valuable lab space.

The continuous growth in pipeline networks means that materials testing is becoming more and more important for the protection of people and the environment.
Against this background Zwick has enlarged its product program for metals testing and introduced a new DWT line of large drop impact testers from 20 to 100 kJ.
The drop weight test helps Engineers to evaluate the fractured surfaces of Ferritic steels, as the relative proportions of deformation and brittle fracture surfaces are diagnosed by visual determination. Ferritic steels are usually used for pipeline tubes or for sheet metals used in the manufacturing of such tubes.
The recommended practice 5L3 issued by the American Petroleum Institute (API) describes the testing procedure to be used on large-drop impact testers. A specimen supported at both ends is impacted with a cold-press-fitted notch, with the point of impact opposite the notch. Since the specimen thicknesses are very large sections of actual pipeline tubes, high impact energies of up to 100,000 Joule are necessary to break the specimen.
Zwick’s DWT large-drop impact testers are differentiated by their sophisticated integral safety concept that does not allow any access to the test area while in test mode. Furthermore, for drop impact tests, high rates of testing are required, so Zwick has developed a pneumatic feeding system to simplify the loading of the specimens into the testing machine.

Equipment manually operated for right and left torque control on springs with two ad{ustabfe stops for the angular position, with horizontal enb/oc structure with precision ball type guides- Its high definition electronic cell allows torque measurements while the angular positions are controlled by digital encoder with 0. / degree minimum division. The elasticity of the torquemeter cell is automatically compensated. This torquemeter is supplied with tables, adjustable in order to set the torsion point, and either operates with the relative zero given by the spring contact, or with the absolute zero given by the anvil contact. How it is conceived: The instrument provides direct torque measurement, which means it provides the same measurement at all times, including when connection points vary. Therefore, there is no need for accurate positioning of the drive arms.
DIGITAL
The digital part has a push button panel in order to visualize on two displays the torques and angles. Kgmm and Nmm are the commutable units and on request, British measures con be supplied. These functions are set with keyboard and they provide for:
• AUTOMATIC ZEROSETTING. Possibility to zeroset angle and torque on any point
• RECALIBRATION. Keys are provided far setting the sample torque, together with a key for storage.
• MULTICELI (optional). Electronic commutation key in case of more cells
• TOLERANCES. Three leds are far rates over/under/within tolerance
• DATA TRANSMISSION. The instrument is supplied with an RS 232 output

Instron's line of torque testers extends Instron's materials testing solutions by providing dependable torsion and axial-torsion testing capability.
These torsion testers utilize the familiar 5500 and 8800 electronics you've come to rely on. Available in capacities from 12 Nm (100 in-lb) through 13,000 Nm (120,000 in-lb) these test frames are versatile and easy-to-use for many applications including biomedical, automotive, aerospace and other industrial and consumer products.
The 55MT Series is a family of two table-top torsion testers.
55MT1 offers a 22 Nm (200 in-lb) capacity
55MT2 offers a capacity of up to 220 Nm (2,000 in-lb)
The 55MT Torsion Testers are based on a dual linear slide design, which provides for high torsional stiffness and minimal axial friction. The system torque cell is attached to a movable crosshead, which can be left free floating or clamped during testing. When left free floating, the user can apply an axial pre-load to the specimen using a weight and pulley arrangement. Closed loop servo control of the electromechanical drive is provided by Instron's standard 5500 electronics and Partner torsion software.
