Thermal Shock-Sudden Impact Test Chamber, CRT Series
Useful Equipment for the realization of Tests about the possible injury of the structure of a sample because of sudden changes of temperature.
If these Thermal Shock or Impact Tests are established in a cyclical way, they can cause dilatations, deformations or even a breaking over the structure of the sample, electric mistakes in its connection or many alterations in its physical-chemical properties.
These tests are very advisable in electric or electronic stanch devices, illuminations, bimetals, rubber- metal, all of them directed to the Aeronautic sector, Automotion Sector, the sector pertaining to the railway and Building Materials.
The Technologic foundation of the Thermal Shock is based on communicate a cold compartment with a heat one through a moving platform. The moving of this platform is realized through a pneumatic action being the step between the compartments in a few seconds.
The Thermal Shock Chambers are classified according to the following concepts:
Cold/ Heat compartments in Vertical construction (CRTV) or Horizontal one (CRTH) and useful volume of the compartments.
According to the range of temperature for each compartment (heat to 250ºC and cold to -70ºC).

Temperature Shock Test Chamber TS 130
Temperature shock test chambers for simulating the high thermal values required by testing standards in the electronics industry which require building components to be exposed to changes in
temperature from –80 to +220°C within seconds. The test specimens are placed in a lifting basket which is moved between the test rooms which are conditioned to different temperatures (hot and cold chamber).
Advantages
- Large air volume flow, air guidance cross-flow
- Moving of lifting basket within a few seconds
- Adjustable overheating and pre-temperature conditioning

Thermal Shock Chamber
Thermal Shock Chambers make it possible to automatically and repeatedly transfer a test item from a hot environment to a cold environment or from a cold environment to a hot environment. This process is defined as true thermal shock and it is different from thermal cycling, where the specimen is introduced into the chamber and the chamber temperature is then cycled. A true thermal shock chamber can achieve a 265°C temperature variation rapidly, while thermal cycling may take hours to ramp up or down.
Associated Environmental Systems offers Thermal Shock Chambers that support true thermal shock testing.
Two Station Chambers provide an upper compartment for a heated environment and a lower compartment for a cold environment.
Three Station Chambers contain an additional middle compartment that is exposed to room ambient (ambient dwell) and is enclosed with expanded metal.
Each chamber contains a specimen holding basket (transport carriage) pneumatically operated from a compressed air source.
