| Our systems for gas permeability measurement for plastic and rubber samples have simplicity, excellent selectivity, high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. The measurable permeating components include water vapor, hydrogen-sulfide, methane, ethane, carbon-dioxide, BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene and Xylene), ammonia etc. There are two basic forms of our systems; the first one, which is based on photoacoustic industrial gas detection, is optimal for measurements at normal pressure and temperatures up to 120 ° C. The second one, which is based on photothermal beam deflection method, can be used also at extreme pressures (up to 1000 bar) and also at high temperatures. An outstanding feature of our system is that due to the very high dynamic range of the measuring method, it is possible to fit numerically the early part of the permeation curve, which results in a considerable reduction of the measurement time |

The oxidation stability of biodiesel can easily be determined with the 873 Biodiesel Rancimat from Metrohm, a modern and reliable instrument with a 3 years’ warranty. In addition to reliable hardware and easy operation, it offers all the comfort to be expected from a PC-controlled instrument.
The method: oxidation stability according to EN 14112
The determination of the oxidation stability according to EN 14112 is an accelerated oxidation test. The sample is held in a sealed reaction tube at a constant temperature of 110 °C while a continuous flow of air is passed through the sample. The fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) in the sample are oxidized to peroxides as the primarily oxidation products. After some time, the fatty acids are completely decomposed into the secondary oxidation products. In addition to volatile organic compounds, these are low-molecular organic acids, mainly formic and acetic acids. An air flow transports them to a measuring vessel containing distilled water as the absorption solution. |

The Protimeter product line offers handheld moisture meters and hygrometers for professionals. The primary markets for these products are in the building and construction, wood, agriculture and civil engineering sectors. Building surveyors and inspectors use Protimeter products to measure moisture levels in buildings and to diagnose the cause of moisture related problems. Farmers measure the moisture and temperature levels in harvested crops using our grain moisture meters and civil engineers use the Speedy(tm) moisture industrial testers for establishing the moisture level in soils.

Easidew Portable hygrometer has been designed to make in-field checks of the dew point in air and gases as simple and quick as possible. This totally self-contained instrument, weighing only 4 kg, is delivered ready to use. Simply connect your sample gas to the Quick Connect professional fittings, turn on the instrument and it will instantly trend the dew point of the applied sample.
The key to Easidew's performance is its sensor technology. Michell%u2019s Advanced Ceramic Moisture Sensor is coupled with C2TX microprocessor based measurement circuitry to produce a fully calibrated and interchangeable sensor professional transmitter module.
An in-built sampling system allows you to easily measure the dew point of any air or gas line, clean or dirty, at up to 20 bar pressure. A fixed orifice port arrangement allows you to select, simply by reversing inlet and outlet ports, whether to measure at atmospheric or line pressure. The integrated filter enclosure, accepting standard fibre filtering cartridges, gives 99.999% protection against particles to 0.1 micron and to liquid carryover. All this comes as standard.

For measurement of the water content in solid and pasty samples, the Sartorius Water Detection System 400 is the ideal alternative to classic Karl-Fisher titration. The WDS 400 combines three reference methods – professional oven drying, coulometry (Karl-Fisher titration) and phosphorous pentoxide into a highly accurate measurement technique. Yet the WDS 400 is also easy to operate without having to have special training and eliminates the need for working with detection reagents, many of which are toxic and expensive.
• Detects water quantities in the trace range
• Selective differentiation among surface and capillary water and water of crystallization
• Operating range from a few ppm to approx. 40% moisture
• 1 µg detection limit
• ± 2% reproducibility of the absolute water content |

As concrete structures are porous they can absorb moisture. It is therefore often necessary to measure and monitor the moisture content within the concrete.
Other substrates, which may have a high moisture content, include timber, fibreboard, plasterboard, gypsum and brick.
Elcometer 7420 Digital Moisture meter
This handy and easy to use instrument does not use pins and does not damage the substrate under test. The gauge is placed onto the material to be evaluated and quickly indicates the degree of moisture in concrete, fibreglass or wood down to a depth of 3cm (1.2")

MCC has announced the addition of two battery powered temperature dataloggers to its growing datalogger line. These battery powered dataloggers are offered in two models: the USB-501 for remote temperature logging, and the USB-502 for remote temperature and relative humidity logging. These products are the perfect, cost-effective solution for long or short-term data logging applications. Both the USB-501 and USB-502 log up to 16,382 temperature measurements in the -35 to +80 ºC (-31 to +176 ºF) range. The USB-502 additionally supports up to 16,382 additional relative humidity measurements over the full 0 to 100 percent range. Rates for both dataloggers can be set from 10-second to 12-hour intervals. The loggers plug directly into a standard PC or laptop USB port for setup and data download. The included USB-500 Series Data Logging Application software supports both products. This user-friendly, intuitive software is used initially to configure the loggers, program alarm thresholds, logging rates, start times, and measurement units. When the loggers are retrieved from the field, the software provides simple one-click access to download, display, and export the data.
With the included USB-500 Data Logging Application software, the user can display time-stamped temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and alarm limits on a powerful strip chart graph. The data can also be downloaded to a text or a .csv (comma separator values) file. Supporting these file types allows users to easily export the logged data to Excel. With one mouse click, spreadsheets and reports are easily generated. The software and USB-500 series dataloggers are compatible with Windows 2000/XP. |
