Retsch SM 2000 cutting mills are especially high performance and user-friendly machines for crushing tough, medium-hard, soft, elastic, brittle and fibrous materials. Running slowly or quickly with different rotors and hoppers, they crush a wide range of materials, eg:: waste samples, plastic parts, biological substances, food and animal feed and beverage cans. Cutting mills are particularly well suited for comminution of soft to medium-hard, fibrous or tough materials (including plastics). They are frequently also used in the preparation of heterogeneous substance mixtures and for sample preparation for RoHS and WEEE analysis. In this type of mill, samples are comminuted through cutting and shearing. The fineness is determined by a sieve insert.
Various knife geometries and replaceable blades ensure maximum flexibility and durability. Grinding parts of various steel types as well as of hardmetal tungsten carbide can be used for controlling the abrasion problems.
All grinding parts can be removed for cleaning in just a few seconds without tools – unbeatable fast, simple and efficient!

It is using a particular drain that the abrasive deposit is continuously aspired, in a simultaneous and reliable way, at various places of the basin of cutting and guided towards a container of decantation with one or two Big Bags. The water which runs out by Big Bags is filtered and repompée towards the places of aspiration of the basin of cutting by means of a system of washing to counter-current to guarantee a cycle of aspiration. The fine sands deposited in the tank Re-are also pumped in the basin of cutting. Doors simplify the withdrawal of Big Bags filled.

CoroMill 490
Sandvik Coromant has launched the first of a new generation of shoulder mills, the CoroMill 490, which reduces machining costs by up to 25 per cent. CoroMill 490 is a high-precision tool for applications where reduced depths of cut and less final machining are required, as with the near net shape precision forgings and castings used by machine shops for higher productivity. Less, but more precise, work is needed on these castings and forgings. This is possible with the four edge insert design of CoroMill 490 and reduces substantially the cost per component for customers.
