The STVS1 transformer speed controllers are based on the principle of voltage control with auto-transformers. They are applicable to voltage-controllable motors (230 V, 50/60 Hz)to control the rotational speed (of professional fans, pumps, etc.). By combining the transformer outs and a relay board, it is possible to select these predetermined speeds by a 0-10 Vdc signal. They are fitted out with (TK) contacts for thermal motor protection.

| The traditional products made by REO are grouped under the name of Classics. New developments of these existing products are no longer possible because we always come back to the old and well tried methods. True to the company slogan 'Innovation from Tradition' REO INDUCTIVE COMPONENTS AG is still able to offer to customers a complete range of components for adjusting voltage, current and resistance. Whether is a fixed or variable transformer, toroidal or tubular our products are still suitable for today's industrial environment. The demand is falling for products such as fixed or variable resistors (rheostats), with motor drive or connected in series, and so the manufacturing of these products is becoming more cost-intensive. Therefore by using our engineering, production and selling competences we are able to offer modern equivalents, with higher dynamic characteristics and the same level of quality. REO will remain committed to manufacturing these products for as long as there is still a need for them. |

Using an auto-transformer is always an economical solution when you need to step down the voltage from 230V to 120 V or vice versa, and the equipment already has a fully isolated transformer or when the components do not require an isolated transformer.
The toroidal construction of an auto-transformer offers important advantages in comparison with an E/I lamination core transformer, like smaller physical size and weight, 30-70% reduction (depending on secondary voltage) and very low magnetic strayfields. The auto-transformer can be mounted horizontally using a steel washer or our Poly-Mount, a plastic insert, or an epoxy potted center with a 1/4" mounting hole. |

We offer numerous Power transformers in the toroidal design. For your convenience, we have added the expected DC output, should the transformer be rectified.
The DC output is calculated with a standard full-wave bridge rectifier with a large supplier of capacitor. Any of these primaries can be easily used to configure custom secondaries at a reduced cost compared to a full custom design. |
|
| For SCR (Silicon Control Rectifier) variable speed motor drive applications, a transformer is needed to magnetically isolate the incoming line from the motor drive. The transformer must also provide a voltage change to match the required voltage of the SCR Drive. Standard designs are delta primary and wye secondary to match the common power sources required in most three phase rectifier circuits. |

The Sola/Hevi-Duty K-Factor design is a specialized transformer that offers these benefits:
Conductors capable of carrying the harmonic currents of non-linear loads without exceeding the temperature rating of the insulation system. Paralleled conductors are used to reduce and control skin effect losses.
A transformer design that takes into account the increase in naturally occurring "stray" losses caused by non-linear loads. These losses cause standard transformers to dramatically overheat and substantially shorten design life. The K-Factor is designed to function within safe operating temperatures.
A core and coil design that manages the DC flux caused by triplen harmonics*. As these harmonics increase, they cause additional current to circulate in the delta winding. This produces a DC flux in the core which leads to core saturation, voltage instability and overheating.
K-Factor transformers are UL 1561 listed.
Designed to supply non-linear loads without overheating the windings or saturating the core.
All Sola/Hevi-Duty K-Factor transformers have a rated temperature rise of 150°C. |
