The flowmeter pickup coil senses
the motion of the rotor and converts it
to a pulsing electrical signal which is
of a discrete digital nature. Three
basic pickup types are offered for use
with the MF Series which will satisfy
standard electrical interface
requirements for turbine flowmeters.

SIKA’s VTR turbine flow sensor allows you to determine precisely, dependably and easily the flow rates of different liquids, such as water and other low viscosity liquids, undert he most severe conditions. The VTR sensor is particularly robust and, due to the wide range of nominal diameters and five different pick-ups, can cope with even the most severe conditions.
How it works
The VTR sensor consists of the measuring turbine and a pick-up mounted on the outside. The liquid flows into the measuring turbine and causes the rotor to move. Due to the characteristic internal diameter the speed of rotation is directly proportional to the flow rate. The moving rotor blades are detected by the pick-up and this is converted into a pulsed signal proportional to the flow rate. The characteristic variable is the K-factor (pulses per litre) which is specific to each measuring unit, is determined by calibration and specified on the name plate. A five point calibration report can be supplied on request.

Bronkhorst High-Tech offers the most extensive product range of thermal mass flow meters and controllers for gases and liquids on the market. Numerous styles of both standard and bespoke instruments can be offered for applications in laboratory, industrial and hazardous areas. The full scale measuring range for these instruments can be selected between 0-1 mln/min and 0-10000 m3n/h for gases and 0-30 mg/h up to 0-20 kg/h for liquids. Bronkhorst's Coriolis Mass Flow Meters/Controllers for gases and liquids have a measurement capability between 20 g/h and 600 kg/h. The most recent development is a series of ultra-compact, chip-sensor based instruments for gas flow and pressure measurement and control.

Porter Liquid Mass Flow Controllers (LMFC's) are designed to address the need for fast, precise control of low liquid flow rates. Exclusive control circuitry, combined with the integral proportional piezoelectric-actuated control valve, provide fast, stable control at low flows. Clean room assembly and all metal seal construction ensure high purity and leak integrity. A unique laminar bypass and sensor assembly provide accurate measurement with only a 5°C rise in fluid temperature. The compact package size of the LMFC's simplifies system integration. Liquid Mass Flowmeters are available for applications requiring flow monitoring only.

Specially designed for filling of all liquid and semi-liquid cosmetics (shampoo, conditioner, hair-dye, shower gel, bubble bath, liquid soap, milk, suntan milk, lotions, deodorant, roll-on, perfumes, etc), FLEXO is extremely easy to use thanks to mass flowmeters linked to a servodrive for the up/down motion of the nozzles.
The benefits are significant :
- excellent adaptation to all types of liquid
- simple, in-line filling system with no moving mechanical parts
- bottom-up filling of the bottles with variable up/down speed of the nozzles and programmable according to the shape and contour of the bottles to be filled
- increased speeds thanks to the continuous injection filling system (no pump suction cycle)
- optimized dosing accuracy
- standard cleaning in place (CIP) and standard sterilization in place (SIP)
- programmable cleaning speed according to the products (quality of the cleaning is optimized and the cleaning times reduced)
- option of installing 2 filling circuits in parallel, with cleaning in place (CIP) for one circuit while the 2nd circuit is filling and vice versa
- quick format changeovers without tools
- stainless steel guards with "balcony" design for optimized prophylaxis.
PKB deliberately chose standard mass flowmeters instead of electromagnetic flowmeters to avoid the issue of certain non-conductive products and the constraints of very precise pressure regulation in the feeder tank.

The SW-600 series is a range of flow sensors based on the calorimetric measuring principle. This priciple is based on the physical effect that flowing medium absorbs heat energy. The cooling of the sensor tip by the flowing medium is registered and electronically evaluated.
Flow sensors are an essential component of processing- and operation plants in systems technology in order to ensure operational safety. They are used for detection of liqiid media and for coolant supply as well as for operation control at pumps.
