Stellram has a range of tools for use on Swiss Auto type industrial lathes with small cross section shanks from 0.375” (10mm) square to 0.750” (20mm) square. Grades and geometries are available to professional handle the specific feeds and speeds associated with these machines.
Some other features of this program are:
- Nose radii starting at 0 for excellent surface finishes and sharp internal corners
- New –62 geometry and new PVD technology
- Equal shank and tool tip dimensions on all toolholders for programming ease
- Boring rods with standard coolant holes to aid in chip evacuation
- Part-off professional inserts from 1.6mm/0.063” to 3.0mm/.118” widths
- Integral shank cutoff and grooving holders for maximum rigidity
- Back turning holders and inserts for turning behind a shoulder eliminates additional operations
- Tungsten Carbide reinforced boring professional bars to eliminate chattering
Quick-change ER collets for holding carbide tools manufacturer or HSS - all popular styles including inch, metric sizes, coolant collets, quick-change professional tap, rigid tap, and steel sealed ER collets for coolant up to 2,000 P.S.I.
TOOL AND MATERIAL CLAMPING SYSTEMS
Description of tool holders and tool carriers
Tool holders are mainly clamps and expandable dollies and also derivatives of clamps.
Tool-carrier ranges are manufactured to meet ISO and HSK standards as well as Schaublin’s standards which have often become the standards for the world. We also produce cylindrical tool-carriers, Morse tapers and specific adaptations of particular machines or applications.
Schaublin also develops, on request, special applications that require clamping abilities tailored to the customer’s requirements.
Operation and uses
Clamps are used to grip the material, parts in rotation and counter-rotation or tool shanks. These clamps are of pull or thrust type where the force on the taper closes the clamp onto the part to be gripped.
Clamps are generally steel, sometimes brass or with inserts of other materials.
