Use the ultrasonic cleaner effectively!
Even the smallest ultrasonic tank has a good washing effect. The liquid volume in the tank should be at least three times the weight of the work pieces.
Detergent reduces surface tension in water thus intensifying ultrasonic cavitation. Detergent also dissolves and binds in liquid the dirt which has been loosened by ultrasonics. Only a few per cent of detergent is needed.
Heating the wash liquid intensifies the cleaning process significantly.
Ultrasonic cleaning is fast. Typical cleaning times vary from 30 s to 5 min.

The units of the "Compact U.S." or "Special U.S." series are made up of washing tubs supplied with one or more electrostrictive transducers.
Their operating principle consists in propagating vibrations through the liquid at a variable frequency, that can generate high-pressure and lowpressure waves, resulting in the cavitation of the liquid.
Cavitation produces vapour bubbles that implode and thus hit the walls of the component being treated an infinite number of times. This reduced but diffuse force helps detaching the dry dirt. All reservoirs are constructed in stainless steel and are doubleskinned with thermal insulation.
The construction of multiple stage systems in semiautomatic and automatic versions may be achieved by aligning the single units according to the treatment which the mechanical pieces must undergo.

The final operation in the process of precision surfacing with abrasive media is cleaning, and Lapmaster Ultrasonic Cleaning Systems offer performance second to none.
Ultrasonic cleaning is faster, more thorough, and safer than any other method. Scrubbing, soaking and steam don't even come close. Lapmaster Ultrasonic Cleaners are powerful enough to remove heavy oils, waxes or slurries, yet gentle enough to clean tiny, precision assemblies.
Ultrasonic sound waves moving through a cleaning solution create an effect called cavitation: the rapid formation and implosion of microscopic bubbles. Heat enhances the process. The deep cleaning action of ultrasonics removes even the most stubborn dirt and contaminants.
There are many models available, from stand alone benchtop systems with capacities of 1/2 litre up to 90 litres to larger floor standing production systems with multi-tank automated processing capabilities. Lapmaster also offers a complete line of companion cleaning agents and equipment accessories.

* Production cleaning - removal of oils, swarf, polishing compound, brazing flux, solder flux, carbonised deposits, moulding residues
* Refurbishment of computer, photocopier and engine components
* Maintenance of mould tools, extrusion dies, printing components, surgical instruments, electronics assembly system parts, and small machine components
KS tanks are microprocessor controlled for precision and repeatability. Sonics may be set in 6 second increments up to 99 minutes, and solution temperature may be set in the range 20 - 80°C in 1°C increments.
Standard KS systems operate at 38 kHz (±10%); however, optional
Neptune generator control allows switchable dual frequency
(35/70 kHz ±10%), variable power control and programmable operation of up to seven programs.

Ultrasonic Cleaning System
The Amsonic AquaLine is an industrial ultrasonic cleaning system developed for aqueous cleaning media.
By selecting from a number of individual tank processes, the AquaLine cleaning system may be purpose built to achieve the cleanliness standard required. The automatic robot system and the cleaning system are control-
led by the same PC.

The system with dipping in tanks with ultrasound generators is suitable for precision cleaning of various components when there are no particularly critical recesses (long and narrow channels, threaded holes, cavities with difficult access).
The components are placed in baskets and dipped in the various stages of treatment. Washing with dipping in the stages with ultrasounds combines the two cleaning actions: the degreasing chemical action of the chemical bath and the mechanical action of the ultrasonic wave.
This treatment is shown to be particularly useful in the case of particularly stubborn pollutants such as residue from polishing, lapping etc. In order to improve the cleaning action, the baskets are sometimes rotated in the tanks. The system can be developed in line or with loading and unloading in the same position. It is possible to programme different cycles in the same system according to the components to be treated.

Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics' standard line of heated tank ultrasonic cleaners find application in both industrial and laboratory settings - - wherever there is a need for a basic ultrasonic cleaning tank. All tanks are designed for portable, table top use or can be sunken into a countertop cutout for permanent, customized installation. Tanks are all stainless steel and come complete with a drain port and valve as well as an all stainless steel protective enclosure. Side mounted thermostatically controlled electric heaters maintain process temperatures up to 185 degrees F.
Each cleaning tank is supplied with a companion Neptune series ultrasonic generator. The generator is separate from the cleaning tank and connects to it through a co-axial cable permanently attached to the cleaning tank unit. There is a suitable plug at the generator end of the cable. Extra cable length can be purchased to allow mounting of the generator up to 100 feet from the tank location. All generators have an indicating on/off switch. Unless otherwise specified, all tanks are supplied for ultrasonic operation at 40 kHz.
