All the transducers are available in 30 kHz and 40 kHz frequencies.
The piezoceramic transducer elements are bonded to hermetically sealed stainless steel AIS316L boxes. PZT elements are of sandwich construction. The transducers can be used in new cleaning installations or retrofitted into existing systems to enhance the cleaning effect. We are pleased to help you in optimizing an ultrasonic system for your particular needs.

Immersible Ultrasonic Transducers provide the ultimate in ultrasonic system design flexibility. These hermetically sealed, modular stainless steel units can be designed into new systems or retrofitted into existing systems to add ultrasonic capability. The number and placement of transducers is selected to give maximum results in any cleaning tank with any cleaning load. Available frequencies include 25, 40, 72, 104, and 170 kHz. Immersible ultrasonic transducer units can be side and/or bottom mounted depending on the tank geometry. In general, side mounting is recommended for tanks where the depth is more than two times the smaller of the length and width dimensions.
These "workhorse" units are intended to withstand the abuse unavoidable in a heavy, industrial environment. They are constructed of heavy gauge 316L stainless steel. All joints are full-penetration welded using inert gas techniques in our own facility by experienced craftsmen. Every unit is pre-tested prior to closure to assure that all transducer elements are performing efficiently. The finished units are function tested in liquid for a minimum of 24 hours prior to shipping.

Power Sonics exclusive designs are known as the Type IP ultrasonic transducers. Typically each transducer requires a one kW generator to drive it and has a radiating surface of approximately 100 square inches. They are designed to be mounted in just about any position, depending on the cleaning application.
Faster, the Type IP transducer because of the lamination design and layout achieves more even cavitation, which result in a transducer which achieved cavitation easily and quickly. The lamination design produces higher cavitation intensity that is more evenly distributed throughout the cleaning area.
This type of magnetostrictive transducer design consists of individual laminations driven by a common coil. Coverage of the radiating surface with laminations results in a high intensity design capable of being driven at high power densities. Levels of 10 Watts per square inch of lamination are typical with this approach.
The high efficiency of this new transducer design also reduces stress on generator components, which results in extended generator life. Type GM, GL and GP generators power these immersibles.
Other advantages of the lamination material are mechanical, electrical and thermal toughness. Low voltage excitation and continuous polarization support the high efficiency design. The "Synergistic" driving action of the radiating surface allows the IP transducer to be driven at the highest usable power levels for achieving effective cavitation.

Our famous patented array wheel probe is the result of many years of research and careful design, in consultancy with our RapidScan2 customers in the aerospace market. It features a wide conformable rubber tyre which is acoustically matched to water, providing low loss coupling into the test part for high quality results without the need for gel or large quantities of water. It is ideally suited to hand scanning of large flat or slightly curved parts, covering large areas quickly and efficiently. A central spring loaded roller ensures consistent coupling pressure across the sensor even when scanning narrow parts. Incorporating a 64 element phased array with 0.8mm resolution, and a high resolution position encoder, the Array Wheel Probe provides high quality, high resolution data. Various sizes of wheel and levels of array are available and can now also be used with many instruments on the market.

Ultra-Trak passively monitors ultrasounds produced by operating equipment. It can be readily connected to alarms or recorders for datalogging, thanks to its 4-20 mA current output, coupled with a pure demodulated output.
Housed in stainless steel, the rugged Ultra-Trak 750 is water resistant and dust proof which means it can be externally mounted in some of the most challenging environments. Couple this with an extraordinarily wide dynamic range of 120 dB and sensitivity adjustment, this sensor is ready to meet your most demanding sensing needs.
