DPA UPScale ensures optimum availability for critical applications by combining
modularity and decentralised parallel architecture or DPA. The modular concept allows you to purchase power protection technology on an on demand basis and keeps the purchasing and operating costs of power protection solutions exceptionally low. The DPA architecture delivers a redundant protection without “single point of failure”. With all of the critical components duplicated and distributed between the independent modules, system uptime is maximised. The DPA UPScale has been designed in two versions:
• DPA UPScale ST (Standard) including frame, UPS, battery and communication.
• DPA UPScale RI (Rack-Independent) UPS, battery and communication which can be
integrated into any 19” rack.
DPA UPScale ST: Designed for high-density computing environments, the DPA UPScale ST delivers power protection from 10 kW to 120 kW (1 to 6 modules). The powerful configuration offers a solution with maximum power density of 272 kW/m2.
DPA UPScale RI: The rack-independent DPA UPScale RI (subrack)is designed to be the most versatile UPS on the market and provides the best technical and commercial solutions to meet individual power protection needs. The rack-independent solution is a standard product which can be integrated
into any 19” rack.
DPA UPScale features:
• Intelligent, self-contained modules
• Modules of low weight (10kW = 18.6kg; 20kW = 21.5kg)
• Total compatibility with any installation
• Excellent input performance
• PF > 0.99
• THDi < 3%
• AC-AC Efficiency 95.5%
• Transformerless
• Online double conversion technology

Conceptpower DPA
Newave’s newest modular UPS design Conceptpower DPATM (Decentralized Parallel Architecture) with unique SAFE-SWAP-MODULES (SSM) addresses all the availability concerns related to power protection of mission critical applications. The move to high power density blade servers has caused a shift in the performance of advanced power protection systems. High power density, high efficiency and no power derating with leading loads have become the key features of modern UPS Systems.
Individual UPS modules with three-phase output powers from 10 to 50kVA (8 to 40kW) are plugged into an easily installed cabinet which contains all of the system's input and output distribution components. UPS modules are Safe-Swappable and can be quickly and safely added to the system without risk to the critical load for either N+n parallel redundancy or an increase in system capacity. Safe-swappable modules also facilitate rapid repair times, ensuring system reliability and availability are optimised in all circumstances.
Highlights at a glance
- High power density (200kW per rack); For floor space saving;
- DPA with Safe-Swap Modules (SSM); For premium power protection availability;
- Low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO); Cost saving during entire life-cycle;
- Flexibility / Scalability; Ease of power upgrade, pay as you grow;
- Enhanced Serviceability; Rapid fault recovery;

PMC provides innovative protection against power supply problems. Through the combination of modularity (scalability and redundancy) and distributed parallel architecture (DPA), it guarantees maximum availability for critical applications. Thanks to the modular DPA system architecture, it is possible to expand capacities and stored energy times without interrupting operation.
Maximum availability
The "n+1" system architecture means that there are always at least two modules able to share the critical load. If any module should fail, the other modules automatically take over the whole connected load without interruption.
Integration of up to 3 modules in the IT rack or separate battery enclosure
Modules can be retrofitted on a hot-swapping basis, without needing to switch the system to a bypass. Stored energy times can be tailored to the individual application.

Uninterruptible Power Supply USV24/16
The USV module provides the uninterruptible power supply of the 300 and 1400 series IPC. Important data can be stored reliably and the system can be shut down in a controlled manner. The communication between the UPS module, IPC and the running application program is implemented via a serial interface and the UPS tool running on Windows. In the event of a power failure the bridging time of the maintenance free battery starts to run down. As soon as the UPS's charge falls to 10%, the application is notified immediately of the critical state and the programs are systematically shut down. The system is not shut down if the power supply is restored before the bridging time.

The device that maintains continuous power supply even on the absence of mains power supply is called UPS or Uninterrupted power supply. This is usually connected between the main source and the working system. It switches from the mains power supply to the battery power instantaneously whenever there is a fault in the mains power supply or the power supply is not there at all. It is generally used to protect typically computers, telecommunications equipment, and other electrical equipment where there is a chance of power failure. UPS are available from 200VA onwards to large systems which can support the power supply of multistoried buildings. It is typically the need of all data centers, and computer network systems. Sometimes in large systems it is used in conjunction with generators but it is not to be confused with standby generators. UPS are used for short and instantaneous power supply needs though for longer terms it may be used with a generator.
