The Morin Partial Stroke Test Device (PSTD) was developed to allow users to test emergency shut-down valves without disrupting the process. The PSTD unit is locked out when the unit is in service and the valve functions normally. When the unit needs to be tested, the operator unlocks the device and inserts the stop pin, allowing for 15 degrees of valve travel to sufficiently test the valve package. Unlike electronic versions, you are guaranteed a hard stop and no over-travel, time after time, without any special calibration.

What makes SOMAS actuators so special? One reason is that they have been specially designed to cope with the requirements of the process industry for reliable operation and precise control. Standard EA Series Rotary Actuators
The standard EA series of actuators contains both gear driven crankshaft and hydraulic powered axial shaft actuators. They can be used with combustion air dampers and a wide variety of low, medium and high torque rotary shaft valve bodies with crankarms. The EA series can accommodate applications requiring position to be held or returned to normal position during power interruptions. Used for two-position floating and proportional electric control, these actuators are employed wherever it is desirable to move a load in either direction or to stop it at any point in the stroke. Typical applications include heat treat furnaces, ovens, heat recovery systems, and water and oil cooling systems. Eight base models plus variants are included in the complete product range, offering a variety of control action, motor voltage and frequency, torque, return action and optional features.

The Posi-flate Series 5000 Positioner provides accurate valve positioning with advanced features. It may be used with 3-15 PSI pneumatic control signals (as shown), or fitted with one of three current-to-pressure transducers for 4-20 mA signal inputs. The pneumatic positioner is available with many options including limit switches, position feedback transmitter and a visual dome indicator.
Applications
A high spool valve, plus an adjustable gain system, make the pneumatic positioner well suited for use with all pneumatic rotary actuator types including rack-and-pinion, heavy duty and others.

Positioners
SOMAS pneumatic positioner, type SP405, and electropneumatic positioner, type SPE405) is intended for actuators with a rotary motion up to 90°. They are easily mounted on SOMAS actuators , either directly or by means of a patented mounting.

The Becker Model VRP Double-Acting Pilot provides pressure control when utilized with a double-acting piston actuated control valve. The Model VRP Valve Regulator Pilot is the “original” VRP-Pilot and is often referred to as the “VRP Classic.” The VRP measures process sensing pressure and positions the double-acting actuator to maintain the setpoint. The VRP Pilot may be utilized for pressure control applications with setpoints ranging from 1.0 psig (6.9 kPa) to 1300 psig (8964 kPa). The VRP is typically utilized when Bleed to Pressure System (BPS™) may be used to completely eliminate atmospheric bleed emissions. The VRP Classic maintains the simplicity of the original VRP concept with “standard” setpoint accuracy and performance. For higher level of performance and accuracy, the Model VRP-CH Valve Regulator Pilot should be utilized. The VRP Classic is utilized primarily by long-term customers that have a large installed base of the original VRP Pilots.
