Hedland manufactures over 7,000 varieties of VA flow meter for measuring the flow of liquids and gases. The rugged in-line meters may be installed in any position and include a rotatable English/metric scale for easy viewing. Calibrated accuracy of +/- 2% full scale. Applications include oil and hydraulic fluids, phosphate esters, air and other compressed gases, water and water-based fluids. Custom measurement scales are also available for specific applications. The meters are offered in both high and low-pressure versions in a variety of materials including aluminum, brass and stainless steel.

All flowmeters are fitted with maxmin
set points which are fully adjustable.
One can directly read the flow rate
on the scale, at the level of the
upper extremity of the floater.
In addition to the visual indicators,
the flowmeters may be fitted with
minimum - maximum switches or
with a transmitter.
When fitting electrical accessories
please make sure that a magnetic
floater is installed in the flowmeter.

High pressure/high temperature models available. The Flo-tech line of portable hydraulic testers is designed for diagnostic troubleshooting of hydraulic systems and components. The Flo-tech line includes turbine flow sensors with magnetic pickup, ported for optional pressure and temperature transducers.

The flow switch body houses a spring-loaded valve plate (vane) which pivots off-centre in a hemispherical cavity. Thus the vane and cavity have a variable area orifice relationship. This gives both high flow range and a linear relationship between flow rate and vane displacement. The vane directly operates both the indicating needle and an adjustable cam, which in turn triggers the micro-switch at any chosen setting of flow rate. Two switches can be supplied to provide high and low (or 'low-low') flow switching.

Our variable-area flowmeters are designed for liquid or gas applications where rotameters often fall short. These models have large dials with bold markings and
characters that are easy to read from a distance. They also handle high line pressures and can be mounted in any orientation.
Like rotameters, they are mounted directly in the flow stream, but with bodies machined from solid blocks of metal, they handle high-pressure applications of up to 5000 psi (vs 150 psi for rotameters). This makes them a natural for hydraulic systems.

The Spirax Sarco DIVA pipeline unit is a complete flowmetering
system. It provides a fully density compensated 4-20 mA output
proportional to mass flow as well as a digital pulsed output. The
system comprises of:
The DIVA pipeline unit. This is installed in the line where the flow is
to be measured. There is no requirement for impulse lines or
additional equipment. The DIVA measures the force caused by the
deflection of a precision made cone due to the flowrate and converts
it to a 4 - 20 mA and digital pulsed output signal proportional to mass
flow. This output signal can be used in a number of ways

KOFLOC 2503F/2504FR
The KOFLOC Variable Area Flow Meter with Integrated Pressure Regulator MODEL 2503F SERIES uses MODEL 2203 SERIES precision pressure regulator valve to maintain constant flow into the secondary system even under varying load pressure at the outlet. The MODEL 2504FR SERIES uses MODEL 2204 SERIES precision pressure regulator valve to maintain constant flow under supply pressure variance at the inlet. Both models are based on the KOFLOC RK1400 SERIES High Precision Variable Area Flow Meter that employs a flow-tube manufactured with a proprietary glass molding technique. It is a premium variable area flow meter that counters the perception of rotameter as being only good for a rough estimate.

KOFLOC RK1812/1814
The KOFLOC Flow Meter with Photosensor MODEL RK1812 & RK1814 SERIES are equipped with a photosensor for detecting float positions at preset levels and thus triggering the alarm output. A light source is a red LED for easy aiming and the indicator lamp can verify its stable operation. These models are based on the KOFLOC RK1400 or the RK1200 SERIES High Precision Variable Area Flow Meter that employs a flow-tube manufactured with a proprietary glass molding technique. The Spiraflo steam meter operates on the well established spring loaded variable area principle. A circular plate positioned in the flow is free to move against the action of a heavy duty precision made torsion spring. To determine the plate angle, a rotary transformer of special design is incorporated into the unit. This converts the plate angle into an electrical output which is proportional to the flow.
