The H 250 flowmeter for liquids and gases is an all-metal flowmeter which operates on the float principle.
Depending on the flowrate, the float will assume a certain vertical position in the tube. The float position is transmitted by a magnetic coupling system to the scale. The flowmeter is designed for installation in a vertical pipe run with flow from bottom to top. The rugged construction of the H 250 variable-area flowmeter makes it particularly suitable for difficult application and environmental conditions. The H 250 flowmeter can be equipped with either the M9 or the M10 indicator.

VARIABLE AREA FLOW METERS, often referred to as ROTAMETERS, measure gas or liquid flow rates by relating linear displacement of an internal float or sharp-edged orifice plate to a corresponding flow rate.
As the flow rate increases, the orifice area that the flow moves through increases which explains the term Variable Area.
The ROTAMETER is a tapered tube and a float. Its low cost, simplicity, low pressure drop, relatively wide rangeability and linear output make it the most widely used VARIABLE AREA FLOW METER.
AALBORG®'s SINGLE and MULTIPLE TUBE ROTAMETERS have interchangeable tubes and floats. Used to measure liquid and gas flow rates, these flow meters are precision instruments embodying simplicity and versatility.
Shipped completely assembled, as well as individually tested and NIST calibrated, these ROTAMETERS include standard mounting fittings in a choice of materials, side plates, back plate, thick protective magnifying front shield, and OptigradTM scales among its many features.

AALBORG®'s Model P FLOW METER with direct read-out is a precision instrument embodying the simplicity, versatility and economy of the classical rotameter.
This rotameter, designed for low flow rates, is particularly suitable for metering carrier gases in chromatography, indicating and controlling gases in manufacturing processes, liquid and gas measurement, liquid and gas measurement in laboratories, pilot plants, flow and level indicating, etc.
Direct reading scales indicate flow rates in engineering units such as [mL/min], standard cubic feet per hour [scfh], etc.
Such scales are designed exclusively for a specific gas or liquid at a given set of pressure and temperature and are valid only for the associated units of flow.
Therefore, the convenience of direct reading scale designs should be weighed against the resultant limitations of applicability.
For a listing of tubes with standard reading scales, see tables 10-22 in our catalog.
