The most frequent cause of damage in industrial electronic systems is overvoltages, caused either by switching actions in the equipment itself or by atmospheric discharges such as lightning. Low transfer impedance characterizes a current impulse and high transfer impedance results in a voltage impulse. To simulate both conditions, a Combination Wave Generator (CWG) delivers a voltage impulse into an open circuit and a current impulse into a short circuit. This is also known as a “Hybrid” generator.
Power network transients can be modified by the cable properties so that in a well protected domestic or commercial environment, the impulse energy adopts an oscillatory form at 100kHz. This is the “Ringwave”.
Surge testing is performed on power or communication networks, which require Coupling and Decoupling Networks (CDNs) to superimpose the impulses and provide protection for auxiliary equipment.
EMC PARTNER manufacture a range of surge generators up to 100kA and 100kV.
|
|
Two types of capacitor can be differentiated for mains applications. X capacitors, where a breakdown of the capacitor due to lightning or switching transients would not lead to an electric shock hazard and Y capacitors, used in applications where capacitor breakdown could cause a dangerous situation.
EMC Partner capacitor test systems are used to simulate transient (impulse) and active flammability tests on both X and Y capacitor types over a wide range of values.
MIG0603CAP provides impulses up to 6kV, MIG1212CAP generates 12kV higher energy impulses and MIG1803CAP is used for active flammability testing.
Capacitor testing is performed on batches of 24 samples with all values being recorded. Capacitor test systems from EMC Partner can easily be extended to include automatic switching between samples and registration of test values.

The DMM is a professional instrument with TRMS measurement of AC/DC voltage, AC/DC Current (through external clamp), Resistance and Frequency. Additional features are MAX/MIN/AVG function, HOLD function and PEAK detection with Response Time of 1ms, useful for surge currents detection. The Safety Tester features allow to perform test on electrical plants according to VDE0413. Measures of Continuity, Insulation, Global Earth value (also with 0.1W resolution), RCDs test, phase sequence indication and phase coincidence (using only one Test Lead even just touching even insulated cables or two Test Leads) and Leakage current (with HT96U clamp + NOCANBA connector) will be easily performed thanks to this new extremely compact instrument. An innovative function (AUTOTEST) automatically performs main safety checks in the plant (Earth Resistance measurement, RCD Test, Insulation Test) just connecting the instrument to a socket and pressing the TEST button. The instrument will give you a final response (OK or NOT OK) about the safety of the plant under test. Finally the LAN checker function allows you to check if the wire mapping in a LAN cable is correct or not with easy indications about the found errors, which will guide you though the troubleshooting. M75 is completed by a modern selector function knob, a large numeric display for easy readings of measurements and a protection rubber holder to prevent accidental damaged.

2201 ProLock
The 3G mobile phone tester for repair shops
Willtek’s 2201 ProLock is a reasonably priced test instrument for 3G mobile phones and wireless data cards. Level 1 and level 2 service shops use ProLock to quickly test wireless devices, perform smaller repairs and bill manufacturers for warranty claims.
The 2201 ProLock is similar to the 4100 and 4200 series instruments because it is small, easy to use and affordable to large mobile phone retailers with a repair shop in the back office. ProLock, however, supports both GSM and WCDMA phones and wireless devices. Many mobile phones today include WCDMA functionality; manufacturers start to demand WCDMA testing in case of warranty claims from repair shops. ProLock fills the gap between the cheap GSM-only testers and sophisticated 3G test sets!
Repair shops and manufacturers benefit
Local, small and medium size repair shops have been replaced by centralised repair factories. This led to customer dissatisfaction and high cost for small repairs or in the No Fault Found case. With the 2201 ProLock, smaller repair shops filter out these phones and return them to the customer almost immediately, resulting in satisfied customers and low cost of reverse logistics.

Willtek offers solutions for the test of mobile phones. Our solutions address the RF performance of the phone. Willtek offers different solutions, depending on the application:
Point of Sale / Point of Return - Go/NoGo testing
Very often phones returned into the service loop are not having any technical problems, the problems are more to do with bad coverage or "manual not read" syndrome. In order to prevent these phones being returned for service , testing should be done at a very early stage at the point of sale or point of return. Willtek's Go/NoGo testers are well known for their ease of use and uncomplicated user interface. Despite the simple user interface, the test sets are performing measurements according to the respective standards (e.g. GSM, CDMA2000, etc.)
Service and Repair Workshops
Because time and test speed are critical for today's service and repair shops, it is important to have a flexible test set which can test and align many different phones - and support the specific measurement routines required by different manufacturers. Willtek's test solutions are designed with a multi-technology platform, allowing them to invest in one instrument that supports all of today's technologies.
Manufacturing
In manufacturing time and simplicity of testing is crucial. Manufacturers focus on simple RF measurements to tune and align the phones. Willtek's test solutions provide fast, easy testing while providing comprehensive results. And as with our other solutions, the multi-technology platform helps manufacturers preserve their test equipment investment.

2303 Stabilock
Regular testing of TETRA phones ensures safe and reliable communication
In critical situations, users in the public safety and security sector fully rely on their communication devices. To help organisations such as police, fire brigades and paramedics provide maximum safety and reliability to their users, Willtek designed the 2303 Stabilock. It is the first TETRA mobile station tester which is specifically made for testing TETRA radios in a service environment. Service managers can now use the affordable instrument to ensure that the radios are fully operational; this is particularly important for the police, fire brigades and paramedics where lives may depend on proper communication tools!
The 2303 Stabilock delivers precise results the fast way. No matter if Trunked Mode or Direct Mode (optional), 400 or 800 MHz band: After setting up network parameters and frequency range the tester is ready for operation. The high contrast 6.5” TFT colour display is split into four sections for clear reading of test results in numeric or graphic format. All settings and commands are accessible via six softkeys or with one-hand operation using the turn-and-push dial. Reducing TETRA complexity to what is really needed in service – with this operational concept, users can operate the instrument easily with a few key presses on the Stabilock’s high-quality click-type keyboard. Alternatively, a standard USB mouse provides access to all screen elements as on a PC.
