Testweld™ Hand Held Electronic Force Gauge
An ergonomically designed hand held force gauge.
ADVANTAGES
User comfort "'Ergonomically" designed - for ease of use
One piece unit
Very high accuracy
Swivel head allows access to difficult to reach positions
As with all welding procedures, it is important to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to achieve optimum welding consistently over long periods.
Electrode force is one of the critical parameters in obtaining repeatable, reliable resistance spot welds.
Force can vary because of variable factory air pressure, water in the air lines causing air cylinders to deteriorate and loss of air pressure due to worn seals.
This self contained instrument uses a cell with a force sensor to provide accurate digital read out for auditing weld electrode forces.
Accuracy of this instrument is better than 0.2% and can be switched to read 0-2000 kg, 0-20.00 kN or 0-4400lbs.
In cases of difficult access the head of the swivel head gauge can be swiveled at least ±72º up or down and rotates at least ±90º. Once the desired position is reached it can be fixed by a simple hand tightened knob. A 90 mm long handle is provided for optional use with 2 mountain positions either in-line or at 90º.
A support wrist strap is attached to the gauge so that in the event that it is forced out of the operators hand by misaligned electrodes, it need not fall to the floor and be damaged.

The additional force sensors are recognized by all the CENTOR Star and/or Dual force gauges and torque gauges, and they can complete a set of force/torque measurements at a very reasonable price.
The sensor characteristics are stored in the memory of an electronic circuit located inside the sensor connector. When the CENTOR Star or Dual instrument is switched on, the information is collected from the central memory and the instrument is automatically configured: it takes into account the type of sensor, its maximum capacity and its calibration data without the operator having to make any calibration adjustments.

HBM force transducers measure static and dynamic tensile and compressive loads - and virtually without any displacement. Force sensors can be supplied in the most varied of designs and classes of accuracy. Typical application areas include bench testing, e.g. force measurement to check material quality and automation technology, e.g. for monitoring quality during reshaping or bonding operations. HBM's own DKD calibration laboratory mirrors the company's competence in the area of force measurement.

Honeywell Sensing and Control Force sensors operate on the principle that the resistance of silicon implanted piezoresistors will increase when the resistors flex under any applied force. The sensor concentrates force from the application, through the stainless steel plunger, directly to the silicon sensing element. The amount of resistance changes in proportion to the amount of force being applied. This change in circuit resistance results in a corresponding mV output level.

SS2
Range ±30grams, 12mV/V output
The SS2-3 load cells have been designed for applications where precision measurement of extremely low forces is required. They are based upon
bonded semi-conductor strain gauge technology, conferring excellent sensitivity and eliminating the fragility associated with unbonded strain gauge types.
The design features excellent immunity to the effects of eccentric loading, side loading and bending moments.
Forces may be applied either in tension or compression and alternative loading adaptors are available. The low deflection and consequent high frequency response ensures that the unit is suitable for measuring peak and transient forces.

Smaller than a no. 2 pencil tip, this submergible micro-force transducer is ideal for medical research applications. The AIFP® is constructed from micro-machined stainless steel and heat treated to form an elliptical spring microstructure, which deforms elastically when loaded. This construction allows the device to accurately and reproduceably measure applied forces.
A quarter bridge strain gauge bonded to the structure provides a sensititve output, linearly proportional to force. The strain gauge's self temperature coefficient is matched to the stainless steel substrate to minimize the effect of temperature on probe output. The elliptical cross section and 3-conductor flat tape cable keep the device anchored and oriented within fibrous materials. In addition, bridge completion resistors are included in the AIFP's® integral connector.
For implantation, a trocar and slotted cannula are used to bury the transducer within the tissue substance. A suture may be placed in an aperture located in the wall of the probe to facilitate probe removal. The AIFP® is coated with high temperature polyimide and parylene coatings for protection against moisture and saline solutions.

FMS Force Measuring Bearings are design to combine the live shaft bearings with the tension sensors to minimise machine space requirements. They can be mounted
in any orientation directly to the machine frame or with supports. The red point on the outside of the sensor indicates the positive measuring direction. The high
accuracy design ensures that even with low material wrap angles and high roller weights, tension can still be measured accurately.

Flange load sensors are used in almost all production lines where web type material is being processed or finished.
The load sensor comprises a stable outer ring with flange cover and centering collar for precise installation. The inner ring in the shape of a bi-directional strip assures the centered mounting of the ball bearing. The radial forces put the strain gauges of the inner ring which are linked to a measuring bridge out of balance, thereby creating an analog output signal proportional to the web force.

TesT electronic force measurement systems comprise the load cell (sensor), connector cable, plugs and electronics.
Load cells are available to detect compression and tensile forces of between 1 N and 40 MN, in various accuracy classes and operating ranges.

The shockproof digital load cell is based on a capacitive measurement principle where a non-contacting ceramic sensor is mounted inside the load cell body. As the load cell contains no moving parts and the sensor is not in contact with the load cell body, the load cell tolerates shocks, torsion, and very high overloads and sideloads. Therefore, the mechanical installation of the load cell can be done without expensive and complicated mounting kits and overload protection devices.
The electrical installation of the digital load cell is pure plug-and-play as the signal from the non-contacting sensor is directly converted, compensated and calibrated by a microprocessor to a digital load cell output in grams, kilograms, or Newton. Measurements and status codes are transmitted as RS485 data on a single wire coaxial cable (RG-58) which may be up to 100 meters long.
The technology and mechanical design of the Eilersen load cells is covered worldwide by a number of patents.
