Argweld® Weld Backing Tape
Glass fibre weld backing tape.
The tape would ideally be used for:
One-sided welding of weldable metal.
To achieve a flatter, smooth, coke free weld bead to minimise the need for post-weld grinding and cleaning.
Common metals welded with 'Backing Tape' include:
carbon steels
stainless steel
chrome-moly and duplex steels
copper nickel
cast iron
The tape comprises a 75 mm wide, heat resistant aluminium sticky tape, in the centre of which is a 25 mm wide band of woven glass fibre cloth.
The material is available in two grades:
Standard 80 amp Light duty for use up to 80 amps
Heavy Duty 160 amp Heavy duty for use up to 160 amps
It is possible to weld onto the tape with MIG, Stick, TIG or plasma processes, so long as the recommended current levels are not exceeded.
The lightweight grade comes in 25 metre lengths and the heavyweight in 12.5 meter lengths.
If lengths are needed to be joined, rolls of the sticky aluminium tape without the fiber are available from Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited, allowing a small length to be cut off to join two lengths of the 'Backing Tape' together.

DESCRIPTION - KR1000:
Stand alone analogue output force sensor. Supplied for direct plug and play replacement to commonly existing units.
The target pads remain spatially the same. Robot reprogramming for test position is not required.
The monitor is preset to Zero on no load but can be simply adjusted by the user if required.
The innovative design of the KR1000 force head makes it far less susceptible to errors induced by electrodes not being perpendicular to the target pads.
Exacting construction standards guarantee this instrument is of greater accuracy than other monitors of this kind.
Multiple testing during construction further assist in achieving the superiority that we have set out to achieve.
When coupled to its onboard electronics package the sensor is preset for zero load & calibrated
to a known (NPL) standard.
The KR1000 is robust, durable, reliable, and accurate. KR1000’s have been installed on Car Manufacturing lines since 2005 and have been in constant use without failures. |

Hand Held Electronic Force Gauge
An ergonomically designed hand held force gauge.
ADVANTAGES
User comfort "'Ergonomically" designed - for ease of use
One piece unit
Very high accuracy
Swivel head allows access to difficult to reach positions
As with all welding procedures, it is important to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to achieve optimum welding consistently over long periods.
Electrode force is one of the critical parameters in obtaining repeatable, reliable resistance spot welds.
Force can vary because of variable factory air pressure, water in the air lines causing air cylinders to deteriorate and loss of air pressure due to worn seals.
This self contained instrument uses a cell with a force sensor to provide accurate digital read out for auditing weld electrode forces.
Accuracy of this instrument is better than 0.2% and can be switched to read 0-2000 kg, 0-20.00 kN or 0-4400lbs.
In cases of difficult access the head of the swivel head gauge can be swiveled at least ±72º up or down and rotates at least ±90º. Once the desired position is reached it can be fixed by a simple hand tightened knob. A 90 mm long handle is provided for optional use with 2 mountain positions either in-line or at 90º.
A support wrist strap is attached to the gauge so that in the event that it is forced out of the operators hand by misaligned electrodes, it need not fall to the floor and be damaged. |
|
Faults in welding tongs or incorrect process parameters in welding can result in production line waste or defective parts. Checking the electrode force periodically permits spark malfunctions to be detected at an early stage so that repairs can be carried out in good time.
The new Type 9833A test sensor allows precise and reliable measurements to be carried out with minimal electrode gaps. The built-in charge amplifier simplifies the task of mounting and helps to ensure the reliability required by the automobile industry.

The Inflatable Pipe Purge Systems have a number of distinct advantages leading to big cost savings:
Use Less Inert Gas
The volume to be purged is localized. For a typical pipe run, the volume of gas used is less than 2% of that required for a conventional purge.
Faster
The system is quick + easy to install. It can be positioned accurately and the dams inflate instantly. Purging time is a fraction of that required to purge by conventional methods.
Easy to Use
'Inflatable Pipe Purge Systems' simplify the process of inert gas purging, Training is Minimal.
Improved Quality of Welds
Leading to bright, shiny, coke and oxide-free welds very quickly. The process involved is highly reliable. It gives regular, controlled high quality results.
Fast Payback
The 'Inflatable Pipe Purge System' pays for itself in just a few welds.
Highest Standards
We manufacture to Nuclear Quality with Nuclear approved materials.
High quality circumferential butt welding of pipe to pipe and pipe to fitting requires inert gas to be used inside the bore to prevent oxidation and notching of the root penetration weld bead.
The best system devised for this is the Inflatable Pipe Purge System.
It is quick, reliable and easy to use, the volume of purging required is kept small, resulting in significant savings in both time and the volume of inert gas used.
|
|
Each Quick Purge is covered with heat protective materials on the inside, so as the higher temperatures closer to the weld do not damage the device.
Central Sleeve - Reduces purge volume typically a 36" pipe diameter will purge below 0.1% oxygen in less than 10 minutes.
Sizes from 8inch to 72inch (200mm - 1800mm)
Feedback off the end users of the quick purge have reported savings of up to 83% ! on the purge time!
Saves on purge gas, as the volume needed to be purged is greatly reduced.
This system pays for itself in a few welds!
So why struggle with "make do" sytems: |
|
ADVANTAGES
Operator comfort and ease of use
Very low cost, yet high quality
Fast, easy purge
Bright, shiny, oxide free welds
Frees up valuable floor space
Fast delivery

| Hannay Reels provides rugged and durable welding reels to protect valuable hose and cable while improving efficiency and safety in arc welding, gas welding and cutting operations. The most prominent include power and manual rewind arc welding reels; dual arc welding reels; portable manual rewind welding reels; narrow-frame gas welding reels; and reels to handle longer lengths of oxygen and gas hose. |
|
| Smooth wire feed is critical to many welding applications. ESAB meets the need with ready-to-weld feeder packages featuring the latest technology for easy functionality and dependable operation. |
|
The Wire Booster assists the wire feeding between the pail pack and the wire-feeding unit of a robot welding system or a manual power source. The driving rollers of the Wire Booster are separated from the running motor through a magnetic clutch. The wire is fed by the magnetic clutch, as soon as the main drive of the robot employs force on the wire. Through this functional principle the Wire Booster does not necessarily have to be connected or synchronised with the main drive.Wire feeding problems can now be solved fast and without any unnecessary installation.
