The rapid machining changeover, the possibility to compose the machine according to the one’s requirement, and the same performance of the single-machining models are the main qualities which characterize this new range.
The new saw unit is made of a strong cast-iron structure. It is tightly fixed under the table and can be tilted by means of two side supports (trunnions): these solutions grant sturdiness, rigidity and a perfect cutting result. Furthermore, on request, the unit can be equipped with scoring unit for an optimal cutting even on upgraded panels. The sliding table is made from extruded anodised aluminium with a closed, honeycomb structure. The carriage runs on an exclusive slideway system consisting of guides made from calibrated and hardened F550SX steel. The spindle moulder unit is designed to provide the maximum stability and rigidity under all working conditions. Top performance features include: a large-size, cast-iron moulder spindle; a large distance (230 mm) between the two bearings on the moulder spindle; the possibility to mount tools at a minimum distance (5 mm) from the first bearing. The 4 standard speeds (3500, 6000, 8000, 10.000 rpm) are ideal for all types of machining operation, from moulding to routing against the grain.

The world's only conventional horizontal wire EDM machine, the ultra-high accuracy UPJ-2 automatically threads and machines with wire as small as 0.00078 inches (0.02 mm) in diameter. The UPJ-2 is ideal for micromachining applications, such as gears for micro-miniature molds, fiber optics, inkjet nozzles and medical instruments.
With its unique mechanical construction, the UPJ-2 can automatically thread a 0.00078-inch (0.02mm) wire through a 0.0027-inch (0.07 mm) diameter start hole with a 0.0059-inch (0.15 mm) pitch offering high reliability and performance. The machine's dielectric fluid operation helps to minimize spark gap and enhance quality finish, while the unique core and slug removal unit improve particulate flushing and enhance uptime. The entire machine is enclosed within a Makino Thermal GuardTM unique temperature system, providing temperature control to within 1º F (0.5º C). The tight temperature control helps deliver high-accuracy machining by maintaining a stable machine attitude even during long hours of operation. A 50-nanometer (0.00005mm) scale feedback system is standard for enhanced positioning accuracy. Sodick's linear motor technology provides instantaneous servo time, which maximizes cutting efficiency. Since there are no ball screws or couplings, backlash is totally eliminated. This provides several advantages, including improved positioning and cutting accuracy, while providing smooth and vibration free table movement.
The AP Series is used to EDM small intricate precision parts requiring fine wire diameter and cutting accuracy of 2µm. With the oil dielectric, the AP Series ensures the minimum overburn resulting in the maximum cutting accuracy.
