How to choose this product

A worm gear motor combines a motor and a worm gear in a pre-assembled, ready-to-use package. The gearing consists of a pinion meshed with a helical screw, a worm-and-wheel arrangement. This results in right-angle transmission unless an angle gear is added.

Applications

These motors enjoy very wide industrial use, especially in applications requiring perpendicular input and output shafts, and where the the security of irreversibility is important (the worm can turn the wheel, but not the inverse). Worm gear motors also provide significant reduction ratios.

Technologies

Gear motors can be classified by motor or gearing type. In this case, the reduction system uses a worm gear, usually in a right-angle configuration.
