Gemini A Ultra
Oxford Diffraction, now a part of Varian, Inc., produces a large range of systems used in small molecule crystallography.
Gemini A Ultra
The ideal fast data collections on small molecules and proteins
The Gemini A Ultra system is a complete, turn-key X-ray system designed as part of a unique range of X-ray systems for both small molecule and protein applications. Ideal for fast high resolution small molecule data collections, protein screening and the study of small weak proteins, the Gemini A Ultra is up to 3.5 times faster than the equivalent Gemini R Ultra.
Built around Oxford Diffraction's 4-circle kappa platform, the Gemini A Ultra is mounted with a 135 mm diagonal Atlas CCD detector (2:1 demagnification and 2k x 2k Kodak 4-port CCD chip) and co-mounted Enhance (Mo) and Enhance Ultra (Cu) X-ray sources. The Enhance Ultra providing a rotating anode alternative high brilliance copper X-ray source.
System Build:
- 135 mm Atlas CCD detector
- Enhance (Mo)
- Enhance Ultra (Cu)
- 4-circle kappa platform
The system is also supplied with the following:
- Full safety cabinet
- PC + LCD monitor
- CrysAlisPro (data collection and processing software)
- X-ray tube water chiller
- CCD Chiller
- Installation, training, service and support

The New D8 ADVANCE - the 1st truly all-purpose Diffraction Solution for X-ray Powder Diffraction
The new D8 ADVANCEThe innovative design of the new D8 ADVANCE plausibly combines operating safety, ease of use, and user safety. Well-matched hardware, electronics, and software ensure an easy adaptation to any application in the field of X-ray powder diffraction. The intelligent beam path components of the new D8 ADVANCE provide true plug'n play functionality requiring minimum or even no user intervention. Featuring automatic and tool-free switching of the diffraction geometry without the need for complex adjustments the new D8 ADVANCE broadens the analytical capabilities for a wide community of X-ray diffraction users. Together with the 'Best-Data-Guarantee' which refers to the 'Alignment Guarantee' and 'Detector Guarantee' it just means: operating safety assured.
The new D8 ADVANCE comes with the new software DIFFAC.SUITE. The plug'n play functionality is consistently implemented: any component mounted to the instrument registers itself with its relevant parameters. The DIFFRAC.SUITE offers intuitive operation and the graphical user interface can be customized to match the operator's requirements, and last but not least features the leading algorithms of its predecessor DIFFRACplus - ease of use assured.
Finally, the new D8 ADVANCE complies with all the recent X-ray, machine, and electric safety directives of the EC, which is certified by various independent institutions. Thus running the new D8 ADVANCE in universities, research institutes, R&D laboratories, quality control environments etc. means comprehensive user safety and minimum effort with the local authorities supplying the permission to operate the instrument.

The TE250 Laboratory Ring Pulverizer is the most rugged system of its type. It is used to pulverize a variety of samples to analytical fineness, suitable for analysis by XRF, XRD or optical emission.
A full 1HP motor with direct drive counter weight is used to provide capability for continuous grinding, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A simple "scissors" type clamping mechanism is used for reliable, safe operation, grind after grind. Many container types are available in sizes ranging from 10cc sample size up to 250cc sample size.

Flat panel detectors have many advantages over image intensifiers (geometric distortion, blooming, and limited dynamic range). Jacobsen incorporates digital flat panel detectors into its radioscopic inspection systems. The 16-bit flat panel offers superior resolution with 65,536 possible gray levels. This allows details to be gathered from thick as well as thin sections of an inspected parts without blooming effects.
In combination with powerful software like MAXIenhance, flat panels generate excellent images for x-ray inspection and are widely used in industrial radioscopy.
We offer flat panels with digital resolutions between 12 and 16 bit, pixel size (pitch) from 50µm to 400 µm and energy ranges between 40keV and 15 MeV. There are static (up to 7.5 fps) and real-time (25 or 30 fps) flat panel models available. Please ask for more information.
