When it's a matter of flexible beam guidance, be it for cutting or welding, diode pumped, solid-state lasers, where the beam can be directed through an optical fiber, are the suitable beam sources. The portfolio is rounded off by a patented, modular system of optical fibers and optical-fiber components such as beam switches and power splitters, and by a wide range of processing lenses. Thanks to the almost loss-free transmission of the laser beam via optical fibers, combinations with automated systems and robots are possible. Fast beam switches allow the laser beam to be switched to different workstations, and thus used to their maximum efficiency.
The modular design and long life-time of all solid-state laser components ensure maximum reliability, and make the lasers extremely low in maintenance. A modern, Windows-based user interface ensures convenient operation by touch-screen.

StarShape
The new StarShape series from Rofin/Baasel Lasertech provides a large number of different lasers for micro-material processing. All StarShape series applications have one thing in common: the precise, local, selective ablation of areas of the surface of a component or tool by vaporization or vaporization-induced displacement of the molten mass.
The lasers in the series can be used to structure surfaces, drill through-going or blind holes, or remove selected layers of substrates precisely to the micrometer. The materials that can be processed range from metals through ceramics and diamonds to plastics.
To cover most of ablating micro-material processing, the StarShape series includes both Nd:YAG lasers in cw or Q-switched versions, and CO2 lasers. The available wavelengths thus range from green to within the infra-red end of the spectrum. Interaction times from the few nanoseconds of end-pumped solid state lasers up to the continuous-wave range, offer suitable laser solutions for all of the above-mentioned applications.

Powerlite Series : Energy through Efficiency
Efficiency is the cornerstone of the Powerlite Series, because efficiency is the key to high performance in high energy Nd:YAG lasers. Continuum's Powerlite Series (Powerlite Precision 8000, 9000's and Precision Plus) provides reliable high performance in a compact package. Unsurpassed in energy, the Powerlites range from 550 mJ to 3 J at 1064 nm, again with harmonic options for 532 nm, 355 nm and 266 nm outputs. Available with
injection seeding option, double pulse option (DPO), or the Beam Access Package.

NL300 series electro-optically Q-switched nanosecond Nd:YAG lasers provide up to 800 mJ per pulse with excellent stability. They can be operated from a standard outlet and with water-air heat exchanger eliminating the need for external cooling water. The NL300 series lasers are an excellent choice for many applications, including laser ablation and marking, OPO pumping and other critical tasks. A compact laser head measures only 48 cm (less than 20 inches) and fits nicely into tight spaces. Optional second (SH, 532 nm), third (TH, 355 nm) and fourth (FH, 266 nm) harmonic generator modules are designed for easy attachment and removal. Power supply and cooling units are also compact and easily accommodated under tables.

General description:
The Spitlight Hybrid series offers compact Nd:YAG laser systems which combine the superior beam quality of diode pumping with the high peak performance achieved by flashbulb amplification.
All Spitlight hybrid models are equipped with a Q-switched diode-pumped resonator which generates a high quality beam profile due to the optimized configuration and arrangement of the pump diodes. The downstream amplifier with flashlamp causes the outgoing beam to be of very high energy density (pulse energy up to 800mJ and repetition frequency up to 200 Hz) while losses in the Q-factor of the beam profile are minimized.
The InnoLas hybrid series is comprised of models with different configurations, performance and repetition frequency. The harmonic frequency can be multiplied up to the 5th harmonic while maintaining very good efficiencies. The exceptional beam quality predestines the Spitlight hybrid for demanding applications such as the pumping of OPOs (optical parametric oscillators) or spectroscopic applications such as the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) as well as the laser-induced plasma spectroscopy (LIPS). With its high repetition frequency and pulse energy, it is also suitable for applications which require maximum power output.
