EMI filter A filter (usually low-pass) that removes any electromagnetic interference (EMI, notably radio or microwave) that has been picked up, or risks being leaked out, particular on any external leads for the electronic equipment
EMI gasket A custom-shaped seal (usually between a removable part and the rest of the system) that is designed for preventing the passage of electromagnetic waves, thereby causing electromagnetic interference (EMI)
encoder A sensor for determining the position (linear or angular) of a moving part, encoded as a pattern, or a series of pulses, carried on the part and read by the sensor
endoscope A flexible light pipe (or else a remote camera on the end of a flexible cable) for relaying images from deep in a network (of tubing, for example)
