hand pallet truck A vehicle for transporting warehouse pallets, and the goods that they contain, with a handle for control by an operator who walks with the truck, rather than sitting aboard it driving it
handling robot An automatic system (a robot) for handling objects
handling system A system for manipulating objects (lifting, positioning, transporting, stacking, unstacking, packing, unpacking)
hardness tester Apparatus for measuring the hardness of a material or surface
heat exchanger A system for transferring the heat from a hot fluid across to a colder fluid, with the two fluids circulating in their respective, distinct, pipes
heat sealer A machine for sealing product packaging using heat
heat treatment furnace A chamber for achieving extremely high temperatures, for treating objects either by heat alone, or with chemicals (notably powders, liquids or gases)
human machine interface All machines need to be controlled by their human users, who in turn need to act on information about the status of the machine. The HMI refers to the way that this monitoring and control is presented to the user
humidity sensor A sensor for monitoring the amount of water (humidity) dissolved in a gas (often air)
hydraulic check valve A valve for causing blocking or load holding (locking the hydraulic tool at a constant pressure)
hydraulic cylinder A cylinder containing a piston that is moved (along with anything that is connected to it) by the pressure of the hydraulic fluid at the inlet
hydraulic hand pump A pump, operated manually, for raising the pressure of the fluid in a hydraulic system
hydraulic hose A flexible pipe for carrying the fluid in a hydraulic system
hydraulic jack A device for prizing two solids apart, or often for lifting heavy vehicles just off the ground, using the pressure in a hydraulic fluid to force apart the surfaces (usually using a piston in a cylinder)
hydraulic motor A motor for driving other machinery (via a rotating drive shaft), which is powered by the flow of hydraulic fluid at its input
hydraulic power unit A system for providing power to a hydraulic system, by pumping the hydraulic fluid up to pressure
hydraulic press A press for punching sheet materials that is powered by the pressure of the fluid in a hydraulic system
hydraulic pump A pump for supplying power, by raising the pressure of the fluid in a hydraulic system
hydraulic shears A shearing tool that is powered by the pressure of the fluid in a hydraulic system
hydraulic solenoid valve A valve, to control the flow of hydraulic fluid in a pipe, that is opened and closed electrically, using an electromagnet to change the state of the valve
hydraulic valve A valve that is opened and closed by hydraulics (using the pressure of liquid in a pipe)
