S-POP: mono-optical probe dedicated to spray analysis
Bent probe for a lateral insertion into the spray.
Simultaneous measurements of:
* Local concentration
* Velocity and size of each droplet
* Flux and local flow rates
* Chord-velocity correlation
* Diameters (D10, D32, ...)
Technical specifications:
* Hold-up range: 0 < α < 100%
* Velocity range: 0.1 ≤ U ≤ 25 m/s (can be increased on demand)
Maximum operating conditions:
* 30 bar / 250°C (can be increased on demand)
* Flow viscosity: up to 30x water viscosity
* Minimum detectable drop size: 15 µm
* Works on any shape of droplet
* Laser source: 830 nm, 3 mW, class 3R
The operation of the S-POP probe relies on measuring the reflection of a laser beam at the probe tip.
S-POP works by contact and does not require any light propagation outside the probe, making it the ideal instrument for dense environments.
S-POP can be used in conjunction with existing tools for spray analysis.
