Reed magnetic sensors consist of a reed switch with contacts housed in a protective glass envelope containing inert gas that reduces mechanical and electrical wear, while guaranteeing reliable operation (up to 100 million switches). The whole is enclosed in a plastic or metal case and impregnated with epoxy resin, which ensures the product remains watertight, while protecting it from shocks and vibrations. The Magnetic Sensor switches when a magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet enters its sensitive area, while its detection range depends on the quality of the actuator magnet and the physical characteristics of the sensor. The range of Aeco Magnetic Sensors includes both cylindrical and rectangular configurations, and is available in both open or changeover contact versions. The various models are available with low or high switching power reeds, characteristics that also determine the size of the sensors themselves.
