New Progress EMC Series 85 cable gland
Low-impedance termination, variable shield tap through 360º with low transfer impedances
The development of the new cable gland – the Progress EMC Series 85 – had one primary aim: to improve the shield clamping area for each cable gland type significantly to give users more flexibility.
For this purpose a completely new collet chuck was developed. Ingenious segmentation of the collet chuck gives it optimal shield contact. The individual segments slide together when the cable gland is mounted to produce concentric shield termination (see figure). This guarantees vibration-proof implementation that is pull-out resistant.
These new, innovative EMC cable glands (patent pending) make it possible to cover a large shield clamping area with very few types.
Progress EMC Series 85 cable glands are ideal for high leakage currents. For this reason they are particularly well suited for use in power engineering, railway technology, and plant engineering among other areas.
The new type series includes M16 to M63 metrical versions for shield diameters of 3 - 44 mm and Pg 11 to Pg 29 for shield diameters of 6 - 33 mm; these are available from stock.
