Axial fan

These move air axially from the inlet side through to the outlet side of the fans. The individual blades of the fan operate in a similar manner to that of a wing of a plane. As the blade moves through the air negative pressure on top of the blade sucks air in and positive pressure under the blade pushes the air out. The air exits the fan with a spiral swirl.

Axial fans are available in all shapes and sizes from 25 mm up to 1.2 m diameter. Below 200 mm diameter axial fans are called compact fans.
