Microperforating unit for plastic films and paper
MF series AIRMAT TECHNOLOGIES

The MF Microperforating device is a real microperforating unit, yet easy to handle, easy to set up, efficient, very reliable and safe. It can easily be installed on extrusion lines, printing machines, welders, rewinders and any similar machine used in the process of plastic films. It is particularly suitable for thermo shrink films, low density polyethylene, elastic (stretch) films, and paper in general.

The microperforating unit is made up of the following components :

- Steel end frame

- Back-up roll coated with rubber, with grooves on the periphery of the body corresponding to the path of the pins ; the rotating motion of the roller is actuated by the movement of the film (on request, or for special applications, we can supply a brush roll).

- Twin gears for a synchronised rotation of the rubber-coated roller and the microperforating roller to avoid any tear in the film during perforation (only for the pitch > 20 mm).

- Rotating pin roll equipped with leaves on which the pins are fitted. The leaves consist of half-cylinder plates, 20cm in width.

- Easy changeover of pin leaves without unloading the roll from the microperforating unit.

Generally, pins have a diameter of 1.42mm, but on request and for special applications, we can supply a unit with a different perforating diameter.

- Safety housing to avoid contact with the pins.

Up to a width of 1600mm, the air operated opening and closing mechanism for the microperforating roll is offered as an option, and is only installed at the client's request. When the width exceeds 1600mm, it is compulsory. It is currently fitted on models MF 3 and MF4.
