DC operated electromagnetic door catching device, in special design for use on board of ships. The door catch is holding the fire door in open position, as long as the coil is energized. When voltage is switched off, the fire door will close automatically. Due to the small rate of power consumption, the units are also suitable to be supplied by battery voltage, independent of mains power supply. They will be supplied with an armature plate, which is to be fixed on fire door.
