The most reliable and consistent measurement is water activity (aw), irrespective of oil type, age and condition.
The XTS-W has separate screens which show trends and real-time measurement of Water Activity (aw). Alarm levels are as defined by engine manufacturers. The sensor is installed in the main lube oil line at the inlet to the engine. There are two alarm set points. In addition, full trend data is available as standard allowing interrogation of the system to determine the rate of water contamination.
