The AN6980 COBRAAutomatic Explosives and Weapons Detection System from Analogic
is designed for high-throughput checkpoints and portals. This advanced, volumetric CT-based system
has an 80-cm tunnel opening, a scan rate of up to 400 bags/bins an hour, and can detect a variety of
threats automatically. The system generates high-resolution, 3-D images of all the contents of a bag
or bin in real-time. Laptop computers can be scanned in their cases, expediting the inspection process.
An automatic Bin Return System (BRS) saves additional time and labor, returning empty bins beneath
the system on a motorized conveyor. The COBRAis designed to support aviation, surface transporta-
tion, and other checkpoint portals more efficiently than conventional equipment, reducing operating and
life-cycle costs, while increasing throughput and threat-detection capabilities.
