SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The RTA are Rectangulaires electromagnets with Three poles equipped with one
aluminum winding.
They are recommended for the handling of products to plane surface:
- slabs,
- ingots,
- sheets,
- beds of sections.
Their robustness predestines them with the intensive uses such as:
- continuous castings,
- hot and cold rolling mills,
- workshops of oxycutting,
- steel distribution networks,
- shipyards.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The RTA consist of tack welded a steel carcass protecting winding. The principal components are:
- a magnetic circuit with three steel poles of high magnetic permeability. Mechanical fitments and surfaces of installation are machined,
- two double ears of suspension with axes and discs for chain with
two bits with common ring,
- a concentric winding aluminum with reinforced insulation,
- a plate of wear out of non-magnetic manganosilicieux steel. This part of high strength is welded onto the carcass,
- a resin of filling blocking and insulating the reel in the carcass (class H or C according to execution)
- a double compartmentalized electric case allowing external connection while protecting internal winding. The standard RTA can be easily arranged to carry out particular executions:
- 4 ears of suspension,
- side hooks of handling,
- covers of orientation or swing,
- boxes of immersion.

METHOD Of INSTALLATION
The RTA are installed on any lifting gear (overhead travelling crane, crane, gantry...). Employees unitairement, they are suspended by a chain with two bits with common ring. For the products bigger length, several RTA are assembled on fixed or telescopic swing bars. The electric connection is ensured by a cable with 3 drivers of strong section protected outside.

SPECIFICATIONS
The performances vary according to various parameters:
- characteristics of the ferromagnetic elements to raising,
- temperature of the products,
- thickness of the load,
- air-gap enters the magnet and the load.
The incidence of the air-gap and thickness of the load on the capacity of lifting is detailed in the curves in appendix. Six types of RTA are proposed according to their width:
300,400,500,600,700,800 Misters.

MODE Of USE
No maintenance nor specific maintenance are necessary except one
vérificaton periodic of electric connections, the connections of suspension and the carcass.
