Automatically target tracking: How it works
The Active Target™ itself acts as in a similar fashion to a standard repeatability target or SMR (Spherically Mounted Retroreflector). However, the Active Target™ has the advantage of automatically positioning the reflector so that it is always facing the laser instrument. A simple principle with resounding effects:

The Active Target™ will stay locked on the laser beam regardless of its movement or orientation in space -you will not lose the beam even within quick and uncontrolled movements of the active SMR
By automatically moving the reflector, the Active Target™ can be used to measure long rails, the movements of vehicles and robots
