The VELA Laser Doppler Vibrometer from Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas provides accurate, contact-free vibration measurements without mass loading the specimen. VELA performs modal analysis on objects that are difficult to access, too hot, or too small to attach to a physical transducer. By measuring the Doppler frequency shift, VELA shows modal parameters such as natural frequencies, damping, and modal shapes. This results in precise and sophisticated characterizations of structural vibration, regardless of surface reflectivity.
